Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag comes with quite a few hints about future games in the series and their possible locations, ranging from Europe, Egypt, North Africa, Japan, or even Asia, not to mention different possible heroes, like Joan of Arc.

The Assassin's Creed games have taken players through different historical periods, from the Crusades to the Renaissance or the America Revolution.

With Black Flag, fans will experience the Golden Age of Pirates in the early 1700s in the Caribbean sea.

According to Destructoid, the new game also comes with quite a few hidden messages referencing other potential ancestors of the protagonist from previous games – Desmond Miles.

More specifically, while previous games focused on Desmond and his male predecessors, the hints focus on female ancestors, including Joan of Arc, and on different locations, from Europe, to Egypt, North Africa, Japan, Taiwan, or the American Pacific Coast. Historical settings like the French Revolution or Napoleonic Wars are also referenced.

Ubisoft hasn't commented on these teasers and you shouldn't expect to hear more until early 2014, when the next game in the series is revealed.
