The team lacked the required time to create a quality experience

Julian Beak, who has worked on Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, says that the creation of the game at Visceral Games was affected by low morale among members of the team, even if measures were taken to remedy the situation.

Videogamer has spotted information on his LinkedIn profile that talks about a limited time frame during which the action game needed to be completed and launched.

Beak says that his actions “rebuilt confidence and a trustworthy culture through hard work and the frequent celebration of success” and “coached honesty, tenacity and commitment at all levels.”

Despite improved morale, the team at Visceral failed to create a good title and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel disappointed both critics and fans of the genre.

Since then, the series has been retired by publisher Electronic Arts, even if its core mechanics are interesting and might be revived in the future.
