Andy Serkis, the famous and very talented actor who played Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is going to star in Mike Bithell's upcoming game, Volume.
The information comes from a brief but revealing tweet from Bithell, the famed creator of Thomas Was Alone, a quirky puzzle platformer that has players control simple polygons on the screen, but that gains a surprising depth due to the superb narration from voice actor Danny Wallace.
Wallace's performance in Thomas Was Alone won him a BAFTA Games Award, and he will also be making a comeback in the upcoming Volume.
Volume aims to tell a futuristic rendition of the classic tale of Robin Hood, and Serkis will voice the game's antagonist, the head of Gisborne Industries.
Guy Gisborne is based on the homonymous character from English folklore, a hired assassin who attempts to kill Robin Hood, but instead gets bested by the vigilante.
Serkis' most notable previous work includes playing Gollum in the "Lord of The Rings" movies and Caesar in the modern "Planet of the Apes" movies, as well as some other video game voice work.
You can hear a sample of his upcoming performance as Guy Gisborne, the founder and CEO of the corporation the protagonist of Volume is going against, in the Vine below.
