Andrew House, the leader of Sony Computer Entertainment, believes that the PlayStation Vita handheld is well positioned to benefit from the launch of the PlayStation 4 home console because plenty of gamers are interested in it as a second screen.

He is quoted by CVG as saying that, “I think Remote Play offers a great opportunity for PlayStation Vita to be seen as a companion device for the PlayStation 4 - a chance, with a reasonable investment, to have a second-screen experience. According to our research, that's resonated most in Europe, ahead of anywhere else.”

The PlayStation Vita has failed to generate the sales that Sony was expecting from it and the company has big hopes for the new bundle that will be launched before the end of the year.

The device might also get a boost from the launch of Tearaway, the Media Molecule game that’s designed to take advantage of all its core features.
