Andrew House, the chief executive officer and president at Sony Computer Entertainment, says that the issues of video game ownership will be important for the coming era of next-gen consoles and his company wants to handle them by always putting the gamer first.

He tells The Guardian that, “We and other entertainment industry players need to be very conscious of that and very careful. Bringing it back to the fundamentals again, we need to be fair and to think of the consumer experience first.”

After Microsoft announced its restrictive DRM for the Xbox One, Sony was praised for its more permissive approach on the PS4.

Since then, the policies for the Microsoft device have been changed and now the biggest difference between the two platforms is the launch price.

Both consoles are expected to arrive in November of this year.
