Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Desilets has been working on a brand new video game, and today he has finally unveiled it as being Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

The game comes from the designer's indie studio, Panache Digital Games, and the announcement has been made at the Reboot Develop event in Croatia.

Thanks to AGB, we even have a video showing his presentation, offering us an exclusive glimpse at the game and outlining what the studio wants to do with it. The teaser is pretty mysterious but presents an innovative and intriguing premise.

The trailer highlights some of the greatest achievements and some of the turning points in human history, going all the way back to the first tools ever devised by humans, marking the beginning of the taming of this world.

The game will follow this great journey of discovery and evolution, but for the time being, details on the actual game are pretty scarce. Desilets mentions that the studio was hiring and that the game was very early in development, so we shouldn't expect to see any actual gameplay anytime soon.

When we do, though, it's going to be of the third-person action adventure variety, as the game's website informs.

Furthermore, the website points out that Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will be an episodic adventure survival game, and that each episode will enable users to relive some of the greatest moments in history.
