The United States video game market is expected to see an increase of 21 percent in the overall value of sales, linked mostly to strong performance coming from Madden NFL 25 from EA Sports and Saints Row 4 from Volition.

GamesIndustry.biz quotes Cowen & Company as saying that the data coming from the NPD Group will show the market growing when compared to the same period of last year, which has not happened in more than 24 months.

Madden NFL 25 has managed to sell more than 1 million units in just one week.

Estimates for other titles include:

Saints Row IV – 522,000 units Disney Infinity – 225,000 units Splinter Cell: Blacklist – 209,000 units Pikmin 3 – 185,000 units

September is expected to be another solid month for the industry due to the launch of GTA V and then Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will power another increase towards the end of the year.
