There’s more information that suggests retail giant Amazon is making progress in the development process of a new Android-based home console and is currently working with developers to create content for it.

Gamasutra says that it has spoken to teams that already have games in production for the Google-made operating systems who have been told that adding gamepad support to their experiences would give them more opportunities in the near future.

A source says that Amazon is interesting in launching its Android gaming console before the end of this year.

Industry sources have also said that Google and Apple are interested in the home gaming market, but they have not revealed any official plans until now.

The next-generation Xbox One from Microsoft will be launched on November 22 of this year on 13 core markets and the rival PlayStation 4 from Sony will be delivered on November 15 in North America and two weeks later in Europe.
