Aeria Games has announced an exciting new mode coming to its popular free to play first-person shooter Alliance of Valiant Arms, introducing another iteration of the zombie experience.

The new Infection-Z mode also comes with a brand new map, titled Awaken, a huge combat space with tons of new features to help propel troops into battle.

The Neo-Russian Federation set up an experimental compound deep in the woods of Slovakia, aiming to test various biochemical weapons. However, their plans were awry, something went wrong and the weapon backfired, resulting in several of the staff becoming infected with a virus that turns them into zombies, making them a danger to both themselves as well as everyone else.

Players can now enter the Awaken map and take on the mission to destroy the deadly virus. The sprawling map has a number of strategic points of interest scattered all around it, for players to make use of during battle, such as cranes, jump pads and ramps.

Alliance of Valiant Arms players can also spawn in the air and drop down onto the map, similar to the manner of the popular Airborne mode, and can even take the form of the Reaper, a new character with a huge scythe as a weapon.

Additionally, gamers can also benefit from a new round of the Mega Capsule 4, affording a chance to win up to 21 brand new permanent weapons, with every spin of the wheel being a guaranteed win for the player.
