Developer The Creative Assembly says that the new Alien: Isolation will have the enemy creature as a low-frequency threat and that players will have to deal with a number of other problems as they seek to escape the space station.

Al Hope, the leader of the team working on the Amanda Ripley title, tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun that, “The world itself is very dangerous and it’s physically dangerous, the world is kind of a puzzle in some respects. There is a small group of inhabitants on that station and they’re in a similar situation to you and how they react to you varies – sometimes positive, sometimes negative.”

The new Alien title is designed as a survival horror experience where gamers need to pay attention to all possible threats around them.

The Creative Assembly does not have experience with the genre, but the reveal of the game has made many fans disappointed with the video game representations of the series interested in the project.

Launch is expected before 2014 is over.
