The development team at The Creative Assembly, publisher SEGA and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products announce that the official launch date for their upcoming Alien: Isolation is October 7 of this year.

The title will be offered on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PC and current-gen consoles.

Alistair Hope, the creative lead working on the title at The Creative Assembly, states, "We couldn’t be happier to finally announce a date for Alien: Isolation. The reaction we have seen so far has been simply incredible, from the screams and shrieks to the cold sweats and racing hearts."

The team also believes that all fans of the movie series will be happy with the experience they have created and how close it stays to the original concept.

The new title will use core survival horror elements and will challenge players to stay alive in a decrepit space station as they are hunted by a capable xenomorph.

Gamers will be unable to kill the creature and will have to hide and mislead it in order to be able to achieve their objectives.

Alien: Isolation will use careful balancing to make sure that the aliens remain threatening in the long term and to force gamers to think creatively in order to stay alive.
