Developer The Creative Assembly announced that Alien: Isolation has gone gold, ready to go to the printing press and into the hands of players all around the world.

To celebrate this milestone, the team released another moody trailer, setting the scene for the upcoming first-person horror survival video game.

The team will go back to the roots of the franchise, attempting to emulate the overall atmosphere of Ridley Scott's first movie, with the gameplay focusing on exploration and on the building up of tension, rather than on action.

The trailer is part of the studio's new #HowWillYouSurvive series, offering gamers footage from the different areas of the station as protagonist Amanda does her best to get away from the life-threatening situations she finds herself in.

In Alien: Isolation, you won't be another grizzled brute shooting everything in sight; instead, you'll be constantly on the run, underpowered and fearing for your life, trying to scavenge the necessary tools to aid you in your struggle for survival, as even an encounter with a single Xenomorph can spell your doom.

The bits and pieces of gameplay that the team revealed so far show a promising game shaping up, with the potential to add a more refined experience to the horror genre, that usually relies too much on the grotesque and jump scares.

Alien: Isolation is coming out on October 7, headed to the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
