Matthew Bruner, a vice president working at Airtight Games, says that his company’s Murdered: Soul Suspect will look better on launch than many titles that are set to arrive on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

He tells Videogamer that, “a lot of times games that come out at the end of a console cycle really have learned how to use the hardware, how to use the code to maximise what you get.”

Murdered is being created using Unreal Engine 3 technology.

Bruner was trying to explain why the new title was not set to launch on the next generation of devices from Sony and Microsoft.

The core game mechanics are linked to a cop who inhabits the spirit world and tries to solve tough cases.

Murdered: Soul Suspect will be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in 2014.
