Developer and publisher Cliffhanger productions has announced that their competitive arena title Aerena: Clash of Champions has relaunched on Steam Early Access, with a host of new content.

The new and improved edition brings a new player interface with chat functionality along with a progression system with experience, level-ups and rewards for fans of the turn-based tactical multiplayer game.

Users can now perform special tasks to earn badges that will allow them to unlock new content such as new ships, increased AI difficulty and Aether shell packs.

The new Shop features plenty of ships with new and unique abilities, specialized packs of Aether shells as well as champions for players to add to their roster of available troops, and all in-game currency will be earned by playing matches and completing objectives.

A special badge will also be awarded to the player who manages to take down last season's top players, and last season's fan favorite Martel will be featured at a huge discount on the in-game shop.

The game is currently featured on Steam Early Access, and a full launch is scheduled later during 2014.
