Says that one of its lawyers is not yet ready to argue the case

Video game publisher Activision Blizzard is now trying to get a 30-day delay for the upcoming trial in which it will face accusations from Vince Zampella and Jason West, the pair of former leaders of Infinity Ward who are accusing the company of illegally firing them in order to avoid paying bonuses linked to the launch of Modern Warfare 2.

The official reason is that Activision has brought in a new lawyer and he needs more time to get acquainted with the evidence and the claims.

Lawyers for West and Zampella are claiming that a delay would be problematic.

As part of a process linked to reviewing evidence before the actual trial Activision has paid its former employees 42 million dollars (33 million Euro) although it has emphasized that this is not in any way an admission of guilt.

The publisher is countersuing the former Infinity Ward leaders claiming that they were negotiating with Electronic Arts in breach of their own contracts.
