Hello and welcome to a new edition of A Gamer's Week, our special column where we highlight the biggest news from the gaming industry, as well as our own original features on the subject. As always, we've been keeping ourselves busy with a variety of things here at Softpedia Games, so read on to catch up with all our work.

This week we posted not one but two reviews, one for Sprinkle on a Tegra 2 tablet, and the other focusing on PC exclusive first person shooter Hard Reset, from Flying Wild Hog. We continued our Deus Ex: Human Revolution gamer diary series, while you can also indulge in a variety of quick look articles about God of War: Origins Collection, BloodRayne: Betrayal, FIFA 12, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad as well as Dead Island.

We also ran two special features, one concerning gaming on Windows 8, where we tried out Hard Reset on Microsoft's new operating system, as well as a Weekend Reading piece on why the new PC OS might be good for the gaming industry on that platform.

Now, let's start our weekly recap of the most important news published here at Softpedia Games.

On Monday, EA has once again emphasized that Star Wars: The Old Republic is still targeting a 2011 release date, despite not saying anything concrete about its launch. Bethesda also revealed that players of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can turn into vampires, depending on their choices.

Tuesday, PC and PS3 Call of Duty: Black Ops players found out that they'll be able to get the Rezurrection DLC for the game on September 22, with all the new maps for its Zombies mode. EA also confirmed the official soundtrack for FIFA 12, with the new soccer simulator picking a wide variety of popular tunes for its debut later this month.

We found out on Wednesday that Windows 8, the new OS from Microsoft, would have complete support for the Xbox Live online service, just like the Xbox 360. Blizzard also revealed a skill calculator for players of the upcoming Diablo III, as they can try out various character builds before the game is finally released.

Thursday, Blizzard made a new announcement, concerning the much talked about Auction House in Diablo III, which is going to support popular online payment service PayPal. Sony also revealed the complete technical specifications for its upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld console that day, as well as details about its battery life and other important things.

On Friday, we were surprised to see that Deus Ex: Human Revolution now displays ads for the new Star Wars Blu-ray collection right in its loading screen, which might make future in-game ads even that much more annoying. Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar also showcased their sales figures, with the flagship Grand Theft Auto IV now shipping over 22 million units.
