This week was dominated by the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is already showing signs of becoming the biggest video game and, apparently, entertainment launch of the year, and we have a One Hour With piece about the game and have started a series of Gamer Diaries.

But we also managed to squeeze in a review for the new Blood Stone: 007, a Weekend Reading piece about bloskbusters and an EndWeekGame piece which focuses on what we are playing in our downtime.

And, of course, we have all the news that had an impact this week.

Monday Activision talked about a new Call of Duty game, which at the moment does not have a clear developer, which is set to be delivered in the second half of 2011, possibly with marines moving the action to space.

On the same day the people at Polyphony Digital have talked about the much delayed Gran Turismo 5 and have said that the racing simulator will be out before Christmas on the PlayStation 3.

Tuesday offered proof that a shooter other than Black Ops can make an impact, with the people at DICE saying that Battlefield Bad Company 2 is set to get a free map pack in the near future, while new information from the developers are suggesting that the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic will be wholly subscription based, without any microtransactions.

Wednesday the recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops was reported to have issues on the PC, with a lot of graphics related lag and with quite a few glitches.

On the same day analyst Michael Pachter has talked about the video game which developer Bungie is creating for Activision, saying that it might go on to sell no less than 20 million copies.

Thuesday was again about Call of Duty and about how Sledgehammer might be creating the 2011 installment and about a new patch launched for the excellent post apocalyptic role playing and action hybrid Fallout: New Vegas.

Friday we talked about an official launch date for the strategy game Shogun 2: Total War, which is coming on March 15, 2011, and about Call of Duty, which got a Steam patch.
