A roundup of the last seven days in terms of news and original Softpedia content

Welcome to a new edition of A Gamer's Week, our weekly roundup feature in which we highlight our own original articles and the many big pieces of news that appeared throughout the last seven days.

In terms of reviews, we posted quite a few intriguing ones, starting with Child of Light, the touching JRPG from Ubisoft, and continuing with Daylight, the atmospheric horror title from Zombie Studios, Jet Car Stunts, a challenging racing title, and Nether, the online action adventure game available on Steam.

We also ran two great interviews with professional Hearthstone players and casters Reynad and Kripparian about the game and its eSports potential, as well as an editorial about Dark Souls 2 on PC.

On Monday, Microsoft revealed the first round of Xbox Originals programming, that's set to debut this summer and includes not one but two Halo projects. Blizzard also confirmed that Diablo 3 patch 2.0.5 would bring changes for Horadric Caches and Blood Shards, while Bandai Namco highlighted some workarounds for the problems experienced by Dark Souls 2 on PC.

On Tuesday, the ESA posted a great survey about gaming in the US, confirming that over 59% of Americans enjoy games every day on all sorts of platforms. Meanwhile, Valve confirmed that next week it should debut a huge Dota 2 update 6.81, called Spring Cleaning, expected to implement major changes to the popular MOBA.

On Wednesday, Blizzard shared some more details about World of Warcraft's upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion and how it would change the PvP gear in different ways. Sony also rolled out that day PS4 firmware update 1.70, which introduced a new ShareFactory video editing application as well as a huge amount of different changes for the popular console.

On Thursday, Microsoft presented the Games with Gold titles for the month of May, confirming that it was handing out free copies of Dust: An Elysian Tail and Saints Row 3: The Third to Xbox 360 users with active Gold subscriptions. Disney also revealed the Disney Infinity 2.0 project, which includes the Marvel Avengers and many other surprises.

On Friday, Activision finally unveiled Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the next iteration in the series coming from developer Sledgehammer Games, complete with a gameplay video. Project Cars also got its first PS4 screenshots, showing that the racing game still looks gorgeous on the console, not just on PC.

Saturday saw the full details about Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare debut, while Epic Games confirmed that an Unreal Tournament comeback would be announced on Thursday next week.
