It's been fairly quiet on the gaming front lately, as 2010 is drawing to an end and gamers are already looking to the launch packed first few months of next year, which will bring us, in “Second Christmas” fashion, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2 and a host of other titles.

But, we still managed to deliver a review for the Kinect-powered Crazy Taxi, the latest in a series of titles which make use of motion tracking on the Xbox 360.

We also have a EndWeekGame piece detailing our Christmas gaming ideas and a Weekend Reading article about how Neptune's Pride could be used to introduce gaming to those who have not been exposed to it.

On Monday, People Can Fly and Epic Games have announced that those gamers who pre-order the upcoming style based shooter Bulletstorm on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft will get access to the beta stage for Gears of War 3, which is supposed to appear at some point during the summer of next year.

On the same day, Activision has unveiled the existence of the first map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, called First Strike, which is set to arrive during February of 2011.

On Tuesday, an analyst claimed that Grand Theft Auto V was set to arrive on store shelves before the end of 2011 and would be one of the biggest releases of the year while BioWare offered a new gameplay combat video for Dragon Age 2, aiming to show gamers how the experience would accommodate both more tactical and more action-oriented approaches.

On Wednesday, the developers working at The Creative Assembly talked about how their series might still move to the XX century at some point, despite the step back in history for Shogun 2, while Microsoft stated that it did not aim to increase the accuracy of the Kinect motion tracking system, despite rumors to the contrary.

On Thursday, ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead has received a new patch, with new missions, while Microsoft talked about the gaming push of Windows 8.

Friday was the day before Christmas, so all gaming news gave way to food, family and holiday themed drinks.
