This week, we have begun offering our opinions on the most interesting video game releases of the year that is about to end in a Game of the Year 2010 titled series which so far has highlighted stories, surprises, racing game and strategy titles.

But we also found the time to play and deliver a full-fledged review for the Divine Wind expansion for Europa Universalis III, the grand strategy title from Paradox Interactive.

We also have our usual two features for readers to enjoy, with Weekend Reading dealing about the sequel heavy launch schedule for 2011 and EndWeekGame talking about gaming schedule for these two free days.

And we also have a selection of the most important news of the past seven days.

On Monday, BioWare confirmed the existence of Mass Effect 3, which it had been teasing for some time, saying that Commander Shepard would need to fight the Reapers as they invaded Earth itself.

On the same day, Sony offered a full trailer for the already announced Uncharted 3 while also confirming a release date for next year, with Nathan Drake ready to again go treasure hunting around the world.

On Tuesday, we found out how the developers at Blizzard, who had just delivered Cataclysm for World of Warcraft, felt about the competition that was coming from Star Wars: The Old Republic from Electronic Arts and BioWare.

We also got news that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was set to get both free and paid-for downloadable content before the end of the year.

On Wednesday, an analyst suggested that World of Warcraft had the staying power to rule the MMO market for years from now, despite competition from The Old Republic and Dark Millenium Online, while players reported that the newest Call of Duty: Black Ops patch on the PlayStation 3 introduced more issues that it had eliminated.

On Thursday, Square Enix has announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is delayed past April 1, 2012, while BioWare offered some more information about Mass Effect 3.

On Friday, SEGA announced that Total War: Shogun 2 would get a Limited Edition with a unique faction, while BioWare revealed that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 would use the engine for the next video game in the series.
