It's always interesting to take a look at the sales charts, for both hardware and software, which the NPD Group puts out for individual months for the United States market, especially because of the rivalry between the big console makers. But for those looking for some reading, this Sunday we also have an EndWeekGame piece talking about how Chaos drew me back into Dawn of War 2 and a Weekend Reading feature about the announcement of the new XCOM game. And, of course, there's also a selection of our most interesting news for the seven days that passed.

On Monday, Nintendo announced that more information on the upcoming Pokemon Black and White would be coming on April 15, causing excitement among fans who will see the first new content for the series in quite some time. On the same day, a court filling from Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 was in development.

Continuing a Modern Warfare themed week, on Tuesday the writer hired to pen the story of Crysis 2 talked about his disappointment with the narrative of the Infinity Ward shooter, while Harmonix and MTV Games announced the full track list for Green Day: Rock Band.

Wednesday was also about first person shooter, with analysts saying that the game will be the best seller of March in the United States (a prediction which proved to be wrong) while Activision said that, despite the high profile, developers who left Infinity Ward can still draw on a big bench of talent.

Thursday was marked by predictions that price cuts for theXbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 might come in the fall, while a season simulation made with MLB 2K10 predicted that the Philadelphia Phillies would be World Series champions.

On Friday, we talked about the NPD Group data for March and the United States market, where the PlayStation 3 exclusive God of War 3 managed to top the software chart while Nintendo dominated the hardware market as the PlayStation 3 posted huge year over year sales increases.
