A PEGI database report seems to suggest that the video game publisher is working on a remake of Shinobi III, which is set to be announced in the coming weeks as coming to the Nintendo 3DS handheld with a redesign that will allow it to use a three-dimensional setting.

SEGA has recently started delivering a number of its older video games using the Japanese eShop, including Ecco the Dolphin and Galaxt Force II so far.

Shinobi III has not yet been officially announced, but it makes sense for the company to take one of its older hits and re-package it for a new generation of players, according to NintendoEverything.

The game was first launched in 1993 and is a direct sequel to a 1989 game, with a bigger emphasis on speed and smaller difficulty bumps.
