Gamers will have access to the event and to streaming options

The organizers of the Major League Gaming circuit have announced that the 2012 season of the competition will see the introduction of the Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, the strategy title from Blizzard, as an official game and the launch of an all new event called the Winter Arena.

Until February 8 gamers who have received an invitation will take part in a number of regional online qualifying competitions and from February 24 to 26 those in will take part in the MLG Winter Arena, set to happen in New York.

The event will be live streamed and will feature the top eight players from the Providence event in 2011 and 24 gamers from the regional qualifiers, with the top prize awarded coming in at 26,000 dollars (19.382 Euro).

16 of them will then get an all expenses paid trip to Columbus, Ohio where the MLG Winter Championship is set to take place between 23 and 25 of March, that interested fans can attend in person and will also offer streaming.
