Developer INK Stories is seeking backers for its Kickstarter funding project for 1979 Revolution: Black Friday, a game that aims to chronicle the events of the Iranian revolution, allowing players to explore one of the momentous events in recent history.

The entire experience will be based on real-world information, including documentaries and historical assets, and gamers will be able to explore them all as they navigate Teheran and try to document the unfolding event as a photojournalist.

The developers say on the Kickstarter page that, “Without political or religious motivation, Reza is impassioned by the idea of change and embittered by the brutal loss of his cousin. He enlists in the revolution and becomes a key player in the ground movement to overthrow the monarchy.”

1979 Revolution: Black Friday will be a mature title that asks players to confront the effects of a political upheaval and watch how violence can engulf a society.

The team is aiming to get 395,000 dollars (295,000 Euro) from fans and there are still 17 days during which they can contribute to 1979 Revolution: Black Friday.
