BLOODRUSH

BLOODRUSH is easily one of the most challenging 2D platformers that have surfaced in the last year. Looked at individually, the game uses simple mechanics, but it puts them side by side to create gameplay that will require 300% skill, reflex and quick thinking.

If you manage to beat the first level on the third try, then you have a God given gift when it comes to platformers. BLOODRUSH is built to be merciless, truly challenging.

You only need your mouse to control the character. Where you click is where he jumps but when it comes to longer jumps, it takes a good deal of prediction for where you’ll land. The goal of each round is to reach the portal that takes you to the next level and you need to do so before the clock runs out.

As you can imagine, you have very little time to complete the round so you need to move extra fast and be precise with every single jump. To make things just a bit easier, you can collect coins that give you an extra second to reach the doorway.

If you fail in BLOODRUSH, it’s in most part on you. The game, although still in development, plays very smooth, and the animations are excellent. Its 2D pixelart design looks good and contributes to the theme of the game by a great deal.

Mastering how to control the character might take you a bit of time but BLOODRUSH is one of those games that’s hard because it suits it. The challenge is real, and you do get a feeling of satisfaction when completing a level.

On a closing note, you have to play BLOODRUSH if you want to experience a real example of a skill platformer.
