  • Fixed a weather issue that sometimes caused aircraft to not land correctly.

New in Wings over Flanders Fields Patch 4.22 (May 28, 2019)

  • QC - Fixed an issue with the mouse pointer mode over the enemy skin selection pull-down menu
  • QC - Player position in flight now has two modes - based on workshop selection - by Rank and Always Leads The leader at the head of the squad is often more likely to be targeted by AI, setting this to based on rank can sometimes allow you to be just another flight member rather than at the head of the flight, and be less targeted.
  • Campaign Dialogue interface imagery now looks neater with the scrollable outcomes window
  • Fixed an issue with the AI Balloon kill reporting (it was reported on number of Air kills instead of Balloon kills)
  • Because the Player can in some instances no longer issue attack commands in QC (as he is not leader) the AI now carry out the QC Mission Objectives automatically.
  • A limit of a maximum of two aircraft will attack the same target (Ground or Air).
  • Revised LePrieur Rocket effects.
  • Improved AI Balloon Attack capabilities.
  • Improved Searchlight function.
  • Fixed an issue in QC where bombers would only bomb if player selected the default campaign Bombing Payload (1) - Now selection of any payload with bombs instructs the AI to Bomb (Friendly or Enemy)
  • Gothas will now use more bombs on each bombing pass (was single drops)
  • Corrected the aircraft database: changed the BE2c HD (Home Defence) version to correctly reflect that it has a fixed gun.
  • Fixed an issue whereby A-Flight when assisting would sometimes be directed to attack the Target irrespective of what the mission directive was or whether the Target was friendly or not (AI will never attack friendly targets so they simply ignored the mission directive).
  • Players flying Gothas will now only attack England on the correct historical dates.
  • Implemented Aircraft start-up sounds for all AI aircraft at code level and with 21 associated unique engine start-up sounds matching the aircraft engine types.
  • Headshake can now be controlled via workshops - severity and on/off.
  • Implemented latest shader version.

  • Observer allocated to player upon enlistment is no longer always the first Observer - an Observer is now randomly allocated.
  • Observers are now randomly allocated to AI flight members - the Player is allocated the same Observer unless he is killed or not in service.
  • Form up at action directives is no longer circular - the aircraft will form up in transit to next way-point. Note: form up at non action directives or after action whilst in transit may still be circular!
  • Reduced kills and flying hours of incoming replacement pilots.Refined this some more - incoming pilots are now pretty poor unless squad is Elite or Good and a fighter squad then they will sometimes have kills. Elite Bomber squads may sometimes have a pilot coming in with 1 kill
  • Time Advance summary now includes Rank and Name of pilots killed and or wounded in sorties.
  • Addressed an issue that sometimes caused incorrect destroyed aircraft accounting.
  • Incorporated the new Fokker D.VI Aircraft and associated squadrons for full campaign play. Also Jasta 80b skin, and one Jasta 80b ace skin

  • All Claims are now processed irrespective of validity at time of filling in a claim form - or course erroneous claims will be rejected but they are now processed through the system.
  • Gunner Rear Health status is now shown to player in TAC or onscreen messages (if those are enabled).

  • Sop Tripe (& 2 gun) - Fixed rudder pivot and aileron in distance model.

New in Wings over Flanders Fields Patch 1.26 (May 9, 2014)

  • New Feature : added pitot to starboard outer struts in both Sopwith Tripe types.
  • Aviatik was not able to fire well on starboard side - we were able to slightly improved gunner response now. Note the Prop is large and takes up a big area of that gun's view. He still will not fire when gun is anywhere close to shooting at the prop arc. Also if target is not close enough distance he will not fire.

  • Air-starting an escort mission sometimes results in aircraft collisions between escorter and escortee

  • Blipping engine sometimes caused AI to choose new leader and reform - fixed.

  • Eindecker as Escortee / Escorter Altitude revised (Eindeckers were losing altitude when trying to escort - fixed).

  • RNAS10 database error - caused an error shown on joining RNAS10 as a pilot at earliest start date - fixed.

  • They can be switched on and off (enabled) by the '3rd Party Mission Types' On and Off setting in workshops - default is 'Off'
  • as none are included/supplied in this patch - they will be available as user download mods soon on our website or even elsewhere.
  • If an error in these mission type files occurs WOFF will automatically switch back to the normal WOFF mission types on next startup
  • (users will have to exit WOFF if an error in these files occurs - you will be prompted if an error occurs)
  • If the MissionTypes Folder is missing or removed WOFF again will default back to using the WOFF standard Mission Type files built in.
  • Folder Structure within \MissionTypes is \Region\BattleRaging and \Region\Quiet (Where 'Region' is the one of 4 regions: Flanders Marne Alsace and Verdun)
  • All subfolders of \MissionTypes must exist and be populated or an error will occur.
  • Some German craft were not being allocated the correct uprated Spandau guns - fixed.
  • 2 Seater Rear gunner effectiveness reduced slightly.
  • Some Strutter skins were incorrectly named - fixed.

  • Claims 'aircraft possibles' list now includes a year either side of aircraft exit/entry dates for early usage in top squads and for poor squads using older craft types.

New in Wings over Flanders Fields Patch 1.13 (Jan 21, 2014)

  • Map Waypoint Setting was drawn on top of Default Keyguide in WOFF Workshops - fixed
  • Player Rank user selection in Auto deployment (when not Training) was not working correctly - fixed
  • Fixed the Goggles blood splat - can now be seen again when player is injured in flight.
  • Fixed a bug whereby all the buttons in the Intell Room were left disabled when no enemy squads were found.
  • After a transfer the existing mission type is cleared to avoid an incorrect mission type for new squad.
  • Some French Squads now function as Dual Role squads when aces have two seaters and player has fighter.
