  • What’s New:
  • Item categories can now be omitted/included for quick-pickup from the vicinity in the options menu.
  • Changes:
  • Item tiers are now shown in blueprints.
  • Increased raw resource stack sizes to 999.
  • Nerfed +x melee weapon modifier hitpoints bonus.

  • Reworked some content creator windows so they fit into smaller screens.

New in Gardens of Gonzo 0.2.2.1 Pre-Alpha (May 4, 2015)

  • What’s New:
  • You can now teleport in your own worlds. Just open the map und left click where you want to go.
  • Jump Attack skill that increases the jump attack timeframe and damage multiplier.
  • Changes:
  • Slightly rebalanced all melee weapons.
  • Nerfed melee weapon +x modifier bonus for critical hit chance.
  • Reworked ranged weapons to make them more useful in actual combat.
  • Reduced pixel cost for static objects.
  • Introduced pixel cost for tiles.
  • Changed the algorithm for detecting pixel colors in graphics. Pixel gain and cost should now be more intuitive.
  • Bugfixes:
  • Fixed a small graphical bug with green container window outlines when worlds are smaller than the game window.
  • Fixed a graphical bug that occurred when graphics with see-through parts were used as tiles.
  • Fixed another small textbox issue.
  • Slightly increased tile rendering speed.
  • Premium:
  • Upload and use your very own graphics and sounds with the content creator!
  • Create and use your very own animations with the content creator.
  • Some options in the content creator are not accessible yet, like creating your own char body or moving/removing/modifying resources. Those features will come soon.
  • Note: You can create your own animations right away. If you want to upload your own graphics and sounds you have to accept the Resource Upload Agreement in-game. Read it carefully and stick to it.

New in Gardens of Gonzo 0.2.1.123 Pre-Alpha (Apr 14, 2015)

  • What’s New:
  • Additional two kinds of color balls for the sling and slingshot: black and white.
  • Changes:
  • Doors now also create top layer collision, so you can’t jump over closed doors anymore.
  • Plants are now automatically fed the first time when planting.
  • Reworked text boxes; input, line limits and automatic line breaks should work a lot better now.
  • Bugfixes:
  • Fixed the Wanderer challenge; even small steps count now.
  • Fixed the Exceptional Crafter challenges.
  • Fixed a bug regarding challenge rank titles.
  • Fixed a stamina issue when jumping.
  • Fixed a collision bug that sometimes occurred when adding and removing tile collision flags.
  • Enhanced the client’s auto-update capabilities. Infinite update loops shouldn’t happen anymore.
  • Challenges should be initialized for new players correctly now. This should fix a bug where new players couldn’t make challenge progress.

New in Gardens of Gonzo 0.2.1.12 Pre-Alpha (Apr 7, 2015)

  • What’s New:
  • New skill in the Exploration – Survival tree to increase the jump duration.
  • Color Ball ammunition for the sling and slingshot. This ammo is non-lethal; you can’t hit NPCs with it, but players. The dye wears off with time.
  • Mystery Chests and keys:
  • Mystery Chests spawn in the woods on Noob Island and vanish again after some time.
  • You need a key to open a chest; those keys can be found in the loot of various enemies (not in Chickens or Sheep though).
  • Mystery Chests can contain various items:
  • A decent amount of valuables to sell at NPCs (without skill: 1000 – 2000 coins).
  • Crafting resources (tier I and II).
  • Color Ball ammunition for the Sling and Slingshot.
  • Blueprints (tier I and II).
  • New Combat Challenge: Death from Above. Perform successful jump attacks.
  • New Combat Challenge: Grasshopper. Evade projectiles by jumping that would otherwise hit you.
  • Jump Attack! A melee attack shortly after landing from a jump does double damage.
  • Changes:
  • Lowered resource cost for hatchets and pickaxes.
  • Moved big Wasp and Hornet swarms further away from Znulf, so new players won’t mistake them for easy enemies.
  • Wasp charge now takes the player hit timer into account, so no more instant damage accumulation on players and therefore instant death for players who get hit by multiple charges at once.

New in Gardens of Gonzo 0.2.0.100 Pre-Alpha (Apr 3, 2015)

  • Features:
  • What’s New:
  • Jumping: overcome small obstacles and evade attacks!
  • The default key binding for jumping is now SPACE. Switching between Interaction and Combat mode is now TAB.
  • Top Layer Objects automatically block jumping (as if they were placed with ‘full collision’ in the air) – so no jumping in or into structures with roofs.
  • New Tile Flag: ‘Air Collision’ to prevent jumping (e.g. if you don’t have a roof, but want to prevent players from jumping over your structure anyway).
  • IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CHECK YOUR STRUCTURES FOR JUMP-SAFETY! MID-LAYER-WALLS WITHOUT ANY OF THE ABOVE JUMP-RESTRICTING ELEMENTS AREN’T SAFE. IF THERE ARE UNLOCKED CONTAINERS ON YOUR ESTATES/WORLDS OR TELEPORTERS THAT YOU DON’T WANT PLAYERS TO USE YET, MAKE SURE YOU BUILD IN JUMP-RESTRICTIONS. DOORS ARE ESPECIALLY ‘VULNERABLE’, BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE LOW COLLISION MASKS.
  • Future plans to extend this feature:
  • Combat on two layers -> ground and air combat (you can already evade projectiles and melee contact by jumping).
  • Airborne NPCs.
  • Combined with damage triggers later on, ability-demanding puzzles can and will be implemented.

  • New graphic effects on mouse-over items and lootables.

  • Challenge timeouts should now be correct (synchronized).

  • Projectile hitboxes of players are now always the same, independent of their body.
