  • Updated version of the TerraTech Demo, featuring game balancing tweaks. This download is WINDOWS ONLY.

New in TerraTech Demo 2014-09-10 (Sep 12, 2014)

  • New features / content / improvements:
  • Improved the response time of the in-game cursor.
  • Tweaked game balancing values for enemy vehicles:
  • Reduced the number of enemy vehicles being spawned in the first waves.
  • Enemies now spawn further away from the player
  • The calculation for size and firepower of enemy vehicles relative to the player vehicle(s) has been turned down a bit.
  • The rate of degradation of blocks knocked off enemy vehicles has been doubled so they should like twice as long before they self-destruct.
  • Known issues and bugs:
  • No known major bugs.

New in TerraTech Demo 2014-09-04 (Sep 6, 2014)

  • New features / content / improvements:
  • A new front end and pause screen menu system has been added.
  • Rotating the camera has moved from Left Mouse Button to Right Mouse Button.
  • An announcement panel has been added to show latest TerraTech news.
  • A Twitch button and live streams panel has been added to notify the player of any Twitch channels streaming TerraTech.
  • A new plough piece has been added and included as part of the tutorial vehicle.
  • GSO small wheels, Geo Corp wheels and Geo Corp metal wheels now steer allowing for vehicles to have tighter turning circles.
  • The standard cursor is now replaced with a custom TerraTech cursor.
  • A back button has been added to allow a vehicle snapshot to be cancelled.
  • The camera has been improved to cater for vertical flight.
  • Guns can now aim up & down based on ballistic trajectory calculation.
  • A clock has been added to Sumo Showdown to time matches.
  • Esc key mirrors the functionality of the back button.
  • General performance optimisations to improve framerate.
  • Bug fixes:
  • Checkpoint challenges now load the correct biome.
  • Trees no longer spawn in a fallen state.
  • The cannon weapon is firing at the correct rate i.e. slower than the machine gun.
  • When taking a vehicle snapshot, the snapshot button is now hidden to prevent it being clicked on again and generating a blank snapshot.
  • Cannot double-click onto the base now.
  • The sapphire crystal cacti now cast shadows.

New in TerraTech Demo 2014-07-25 (Jul 28, 2014)

  • General:
  • When tall objects such as trees, rocks and crystals obscure view of the vehicle, they now become semi-transparent.
  • In Sumo Showdown - Fight (Auto), you can now rotate the camera by clicking and dragging the mouse.
  • In Sumo Showdown - Fight (Auto), if all vehicles are immobile and no longer inflicting any damage, then a countdown from 10 will start before a draw is declared.
  • In Sumo Showdown, self right vehicles, even if they are being pushed.
  • Bug fixes:
  • The game was crashing when trying to tweet a vehicle snapshot. This is now fixed.
  • In Sumo design mode, you could not exit beam mode properly (firing a weapon was a workaround). This is now fixed.
  • When loading a vehicle into Sumo design and refining the design, sometimes, the pieces used were not removed from the dispensers. This is now fixed.
  • The word “SUMO” was not being displayed after the “3, 2, 1” countdown at the start of a Sumo battle.
  • In Sumo battles, the digger scoops were not reset to their proper position. This is now fixed.
  • The URL bit.ly/myTerraTech was missing from the tweet message template.

New in TerraTech Demo 2014-07-19 (Jul 21, 2014)

  • General updates:
  • Updated front end screen with various buttons linking to social media.
  • Vehicle names, typed when using the snapshot button, now have a 20 character limit.
  • Challenge modes: Updated the default high score tables.
  • Challenge modes: Dispensers are available after loading vehicles to allow them to be amended.
  • For Sumo Showdown, the parts limit stays in place with dispensers containing the remaining number of blocks only.
  • Terra Firma Challenge: Reduced the size of the speedometer UI.
  • Sumo Showdown: Display a controller with controls at the start of a local multiplayer battle.
  • Sumo Showdown: Digger scoops now scoop repeatedly instead of once.
  • Sumo Showdown: Improved controller support.
  • Bug fixes:
  • Wheels can now be detached by dragging the wheel by its tyre. Previously, You had to drag at the attach point instead.
  • In Sumo Showdown auto-mode, boosters and mega-boosters now fire, then wait for fuel tanks to refill to max before firing again.
  • When grabbing the cab out of the Build Beam, the cab would attach to the cursor and soft lock the game. This is now fixed.
  • When interrupting a Sumo Showdown battle and then going into Sumo design, if your vehicle goes off the arena, fireworks are incorrectly triggered and the game soft locks. This is now fixed.

New in TerraTech Demo 2014-07-15 (Jul 16, 2014)

  • The first TerraTech build to include the all-new Sumo Showdown local multiplayer mode. Sumo Showdown is a single screen, 4 player, local multiplayer mode in which you're challenged to bring your best vehicle creations to face off in a duel to the death. Using the Twitter vehicle sharing feature introduced in our previous Demo, it's easy to share your vehicle with a friend and then head over to their place to take them on in person. You can also play Sumo Showdown by yourself, pitting your vehicles against your friends' creations controlled by AI, or setup an AI only battle so that you can sit back and enjoy the carnage. We've also included gamepad support for the first time and some more new vehicle pieces too.
  • General:
  • Current speed and highest speed displayed in UI
  • New piece: plane tail fin
  • Key binding to cycle through block orientations - F+G
  • Sumo features:
  • Sumo battles take place in a desert biome on a Sumo Showdown arena
  • Play with 2-4 sumo vehicles at a time
  • There are 2 modes; auto-mode and player controlled mode
  • For player controlled mode, there is support to control vehicles with game pads (any Unity supported joystick)
  • When building Sumo vehicles, there is a 16x16x16 block limit
  • Sumo built vehicles are stored in the metadata and you can only load Sumo vehicles in Sumo Showdown mode
  • Ability to tweet new Sumo vehicles with #myTerraTechSumo
  • The name of the vehicle is stored with the vehicle and displayed when loading vehicles
  • Vehicles target each other instead of blindly going forwards.
  • Vehicles stuck in a non-upright position for a certain amount of time will try to self-right themselves using Beam Mode
  • The winner is determined by either a cab being destroyed or a vehicle going out the arena and winner is announced with fireworks going off around the arena edge
  • Vehicles explode when their centre goes outside the arena
  • Known issues:
  • Wheels cannot be detached by dragging the wheel by its tyre. You have to drag at the attach point instead.
  • Boosters and mega-boosters do not fire during Sumo Showdown auto-mode.

  • Share your creations directly on Twitter using #myTerraTech, all without ever leaving the game!
  • Load saved vehicles into any mode:
  • Challenge mode vehicles can now be loaded in the main game and vice versa.
  • Flying Checkpoint Challenge and a new track:
  • You thought building a fast vehicle on the ground was tough? Well, now you can race in the skies!
  • Ailerons & wing trails:
  • Wings now leave trails behind them in the sky and it's easier to control direction in flight.
  • Graphics and assets have been polished and improved.
  • Lots of bugs have been fixed.
