  • You can now add other players besides your Friends when you create events.
  • You can now save events received through (Messages) and (E-mail). Select the (calendar file) inside the message to view the event, then select (Options) > [Add to Calendar] to save the event to your calendar.
  • Other:
  • References to the product name on VTE-1000 series system screens have been changed to [PlayStationTV] or [PS TV].
  • You can now adjust the volume level of your PS TV system. Press and hold the PS button, and then select [Master Volume] on the screen that is displayed.
  • Browser:
  • You can now close all windows at once. Select (Window) > (Options) > [Close All Windows] > [OK].
  • The display speed of Web pages has been improved.
  • Support for HTML5 and JavaScript has been enhanced.
  • Calendar:
  • LiveAreaTM can now display up to 6 events scheduled today or later.
  • You can now set the color of the days in the calendar. Select (Options) > [Settings] > [Day Color] on the calendar screen.
  • Settings:
  • [Noumea] was added to [Date & Time] > [Time Zone].
  • Support for Daylight Savings Time was added for Wellington (New Zealand).
  • Several languages were added to [Devices] > [External Keyboard] > [Type]. Languages other than Japanese and English can be typed from a Bluetooth keyboard connected to a PS Vita system or PS TV system.
  • Other:
  • You can now use four wireless controllers simultaneously with a PS TV system.
  • Some games have a set number of controllers that can be used simultaneously to play.
  • Up to two players can now play simultaneously on the (PS4 Link) remote play.

  • You can now perform device registration (pairing) for remote play via the Internet. When registering a device via the Internet, registration is performed automatically. You do not have to enter any numbers for registration.
  • If you have not already set the current PlayStation4 as your primary system, you must select (Settings) > [PSNSM] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate].
  • Default button assignments for remote play have been changed.
  • To verify button assignments, press the PS button, and then select (Button Guide) in the toolbar that is displayed.
  • (Settings) has been added to the toolbar that is displayed when you press the PS button while using remote play. You can adjust whether feedback is shown on the screen when you touch the screen (touchscreen) or the rear touch pad.

  • Good news for you all – you will now be able to display over 100 applications on Home screen. The limit has been increased to 500 icons.
  • Messages:
  • You will now be able to exchange voice messages. The PS4 has the same feature so you can exchange voice messages with your friends who are playing PS4.
  • Parental controls:
  • We have enhanced the parental control features. You will be able to restrict PS Store access, and with a children’s age guide for each level it is easier to find the right level for your children. We’ve also added an information guide for TrendMicro web security.
  • Calendar:
  • With the Calendar app, you’ll be able to create gameplay events with your friends and sync your calendar with Google Calendar. You’ll also be able to invite your friends to share events by using Messages and Email.
  • Content Manager:
  • You can check and manage Memory Card usage with Manage Content on Memory Card.

  • PS4 Link
  • The PS4 Link app has been added to the PS Vita system’s home screen. With this application, you can use your PS Vita to remotely control a PS4 system, and play a range of PS4 games on your PS Vita screen. When you’re playing a game on PS4 that supports second screen features, you can also display information from that game on your PS Vita and use it as a second screen.
  • Parental Controls:
  • The Parental Controls application has been added to the home screen. You can now manage the duration of game play, and the use of games and videos that have parental controls. You can also control access to certain areas of the system, including the use of the Internet browser and Location Data.
  • Photos:
  • A Panoramic Camera setting has been added. You can now take panoramic photos on PS Vita, and look around the photo by using the PS Vita’s built-in motion sensor.
  • Friends:
  • The application layout for Friends has been improved. There are now four tabs: Find Player on PSN, Friends, Friend Requests, and Players Blocked
  • Messages:
  • The Group Messaging application name and icon have been changed to Messages. The application layout has also been improved, and you can now send and receive messages with friends and players on PS4 or on mobile devices installed with PlayStation App.
  • Party:
  • The icon for the Party application has been changed. You can now voice chat and text chat with friends and players on PS4.
  • Email:
  • You can now sync the contacts saved in your email account from services including Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. To sync your contacts, select Contact List > Options > [CardDAV Settings] > [Add CardDAV Account], and then follow the screens.
  • Content Manager:
  • You can now use Wi-Fi to connect your PS Vita to a PS3, and transfer data between them. Your PS Vita and PS3 must be connected within the same network.? Also, to use this feature, the system software of the PS3 you’re using must be version 4.50 or later.
  • PS3 Remote Play:
  • The Remote Play application name and icon have been changed to PS3 Remote Play.
  • Settings:
  • You can now download future system software updates automatically.
  • Trophies:
  • You can now display Trophies of PS4 software on your PS Vita. Rarity of the trophy cannot be displayed.
