  • Fixed a melee animation bug.
  • Fixed a bug causing the bus system cool down not to show on the interact UI some times.
  • Fixed a bug causing medical items to not "consume" sometimes and just disappear.
  • Riot shields and other barricades / building objects now use the correct material settings. This means that when shooting a wooden barricade you will hear wooden impact sounds and when shooting a metal object you will hear metal sounds.
  • VEHICLES:
  • Player model is now visible again in the Buggy.
  • Player model is now visible again in the Police Dragster.
  • Player model is now visible again in the Sheriff Dragster.
  • CLAN TERRITORIES:
  • The clan territory system has gotten a major rework. We have changed and added a lot of features to the system. The following is changed / added:
  • We have buffed the shield clan members get when being inside a claimed area from 10 to 20%. Once again we'd like to make clear that this shield does not apply to head shot damage.
  • Clan contest points (the flags) now have health. This varies between 5.000 and 10.000 health points. The health needs to be taken down by damaging the contest point. Once the health reaches 0 contesting can start. Contest points can regenerate back to their full health over time and will if no contests or damages the point for some time.
  • Clan contest points now have their own perks. Each point is unique and can have a different perk. Perks are also indicated on the minimap. The following perks have been added:
  • Decreased zombie trigger radius.
  • Experience boost.
  • Game dollar boost.
  • Increased effectiveness of healing items.
  • Less revive time if a clan member died inside the clan territory.
  • Decreased damage from zombies.
  • The ability to regenerate health over time.
  • Decreased pick-up timer for items.
  • More health on placed shields and barricades.
  • Advanced movements: high jump and a bit faster movement.
  • Decreased crafting time. (only for Survival)
  • Please keep in mind that these perks only apply to clan members of the clan that has the clan point contested.
  • Please keep in mind that each clan contest point only has one of the mentioned perks.
  • We have also added a visual indicator for the clan territory in the minimap. You can see the territory of that point when hovering on the point in the in-game minimap. (Also the active perk shows in the minimap as mentioned before.)
  • Added a respawn option for clan members to respawn in the clan territory their clan owns. If you die, and you are in a clan that owns a clan point in the map, you'll have the option to spawn there.
  • Added a system that allows players to teleport / travel between clan contest points. This is only for Open World. If a clan owns two contest points clan members can go to one of them, hold e, and select what other contest point they'd like to travel to. There is a five minute cool down on this.
  • CHARACTERS:

  • Item & Skin Updates:
  • FIXES:
  • Fixed the Custom Guerilla Fallen Angel skin. Removed the red "dots" from the mesh. This to make it look like it originally looked before the rig update.
  • Fixed the material settings for the Autumn 2018 Skinbox. It was using the incorrect bump and specular map textures.
  • Fixed the material settings for the Fun Edition Skinbox. It was using the incorrect bump and specular map textures. Also improved the diffuse texture.'
  • Fixed the iron sight of the AK-15. The original default iron sight is now properly aligned and the weapon now shoots correctly where you aim.
  • ADDITIONS:
  • Added a new sub machine gun called: "Thompson MK-2". This weapon is a modernized variant of the original "Thompson" weapon. It's a machine gun and has base stats similar to those of the Honey Badger. It's not silenced and has custom brand new shooting sounds. We will explain in each separate game-mode update where / if the weapon is released in that game-mode. Here is a preview of the icon:

  • Item load-outs are now enabled in Survival. Players can use the load-out feature now just like as in Open World.
  • Added a 20 XP reward for killing players.
  • Players can no longer get infected by zombies when they still have spawn protection.
  • Added a one minute cool down for locker usage. This is only on Official servers and done to prevent the "locker camping" some players do.
  • Increased the "server hop" cool down from 2 to 6 hours to prevent players from ghosting.
  • LOOT:
  • The Thompson MK-2 is now released in Survival. This weapon has a relative rare chance but is not too rare. It can be found at any military location and also drops from normal and alien super zombies.
  • COLORADO V2 (Survival):
  • Max vehicle spawns are limited to 6 each time means it will only spawn this amount at the same time.

  • Fixed the glitched ambient sound in Campos City near the 5-story.
  • Added more ladders to buildings and the bridge in Campos City.

  • The revive system has been added. When players die, if playing in a group, their team members have the option to revive the dead team mate. This revive "hold e" timer is relatively long so can't be done in a quick fight. Players would also have to completely stand still while reviving. Further information is shown in the dev blog #7 video.
  • Competitive Updates:

  • The game-dollar reward players get in the end of a Competitive game is now also based on the amount of kills you got during that game. Just like how it is in the Battle Royale game-mode as well.
  • Competitive characters now have the rank / leaderboards skins enabled. This means if you are for example rank 1 wins on the Competitive leaderboard, you will have the rank 1 skin option in Competitive games.
  • Fixed a bug causing the shooting sound to keep playing when the Competitive match ended.
  • Every player in Competitive now has a full skill tree on default.
  • Fixed a crash related to the Competitive server.

New in Infestation: The New Z Online Client 2.30 (Mar 11, 2019)

  • Dear Players,:
  • It's Monday and that means a fresh start of a brand new week. This also means a brand new patch in New Z! Who's excited? This patch we have done a lot of changes and tweaks to the Competitive game-mode, we have given Caliwood a brand new look and we have done our usual fixes and improvements. Next to all of that this patch contains some event related content for upcoming St. Patrick's day (more information will follow later regarding that btw.) Now, without further ado let's jump into the patch notes!
  • Overall Updates:
  • GENERAL:
  • Grenades have been disabled on "Sniper Only" / "AR Only" limited servers.
  • Fixed the HUD translations for "Clan Territory". It was not showing in some languages before.
  • GAMEPLAY:
  • Crouching "footstep" sounds are now properly synced with the character.
  • MODELS:
  • Updated the model of a very much used rock model. Players were able to easily glitch inside this rock and abuse that. (Example of the issue / model: https://prnt.sc/mn1fxn)
  • Updated / Improved the render distances / LOD distances of newly made LODs for the Caliwood models added in previous patch (patch 2.19). We will keep improving this based on further observations and feedback from the community.
  • The render distance of the military tents has been increased.

  • Updated the Community Box. This box is now legacy so the legacy icon has been added.
  • Fixed an issue related to the ACOG sight. In first-person this sight wasn't centered when using with a rifle laser. This has been fixed and the sight has been adjusted back.
  • Fixed an issue related to the SVD Shark Attack skin where, when players attached a different scope, the shark attack skin would dissapear. You can now properly attach scopes to this skin again without the skin disappearing.
  • Fixed an animation problem with the Riot Shield Stinefelt.

  • Fixed some spawns around NATO Military Base where players were spawning inside trees.
  • Some smaller changes to the tree render settings have been made to improve performance.
  • CALIWOOD (Open World):
  • Caliwood has had a massive rework where we have migrated back the older original Caliwood map. This means places such as "West Oaks" and "San Pavel" are back. For more information about these changes we'd recommend you to read Steve's dev blog about it: http://forums.fredaikis.com/index.php?/topic/7009-project-caliwood/ Further following changes have been made:
  • Reverted back to the original Caliwood; places such as West Oaks and San Pavel are now back on the same map.
  • Improved the render and LOD distance of some major city buildings in the main city. Please let us know if you experience any more issues regarding the render distances of the buildings in this map so that we can keep on improving them.
  • Updated the overall lighting settings.
  • Added some new POI's in the ocean such as container ships and other sea objects. Have a look, it looks very cool!
  • Please note that since we have migrated back the original Caliwood map, there might be some little places we have missed where some objects might still be flying a little bit. In case you experience this please let us know in a comment on these patch notes, a forum thread, on our discord server or through a support ticket.
  • Competitive:
  • Also a lot of work has been done to the Competitive game-mode. We are getting very close to a more public beta test where we will allow certain player groups to try out this new game-mode. We are very excited to show you guys more. As you will see below is that based on feedback from earlier testing we have made a Smallville and Clearview themed Competitive map. Players just wanted to have more connection to the War Z / Infestation idea so this is what we went for for now.
  • OVERALL:
  • The Competitive store has been adjusted. Overall prices have been changed and some newer items have been added.
  • In the Competitive game-mode teams switch side every round now.
  • Players now get a little speed boost when a round starts. This speed boost slowly decreases.
  • Player's stamina gets reset when a round starts. This wasn't working properly before.
  • There is now an attacking team and a defending team. The attacking team has to conquer one of the (for now) three points. The defending team has to defend them.
  • There is now multiple contest points instead of just one. This to vary the gameplay more and give attacking teams a choice. These points will be pre-set on each map and won't randomly change. Attacking teams can choose any of the 3 points when ever they want during a round.
  • CLEARVIEW (Competitive):
  • Added more objects overall for players to have more cover behind. Object amounts have been increased significantly around contest points.
  • Come boxes and other "jump-up" objects have been removed because it was too unfair for one side since they could get to a certain point in the map much faster than the other team.
  • Some fences got lowered a little bit mainly around the White House.
  • Players can no longer get on top of the garage. "jump-up" objects got removed.
  • Players can no longer get on top of the police station. "jump-up" objects such as the bus stops got repositioned.
  • Improved the overall quality of the lighting.

  • Cleared up some space in the public game files. Total game file size will be decreased a bit. We do this from time to time to clean up a bit and have new players download the game faster. (Note: won't apply to players who have already installed the game.)
  • We decided to remove the spawning cars from the official server. From now on you will be able to find car spawners again and you will be able to use them on premium and private server. We are planning to add them back as soon they are fully fixed.

The exchange pool is a new feature on the Colorado V2 Survival map. The idea is that we change the exchange location and the exchangeable items from time to time.   • We would like to list out some of the further changes we have done, even though this game mode is not publicly available yet it's good to show further changes and work done to you guys.
  • GENERAL:
  • The minimap is now showing in the Competitive game-mode.
  • Fixed a lot of crashes based on the testing we have done earlier.

  • Fixed an issue where when a player died the body (rag-doll) would fall through the ground.

  • Fixed a bug related to the mission system where rewarded ammo couldn't be stacked and would disconnect you when stacking.
  • Fixed a character skeleton loading issue in the main menu where it would not load properly in some menus.
  • Fixed several crashes related to the vehicle system. Also fixed a major crash/disconnect issue when entering a vehicle.
  • Reworked the vehicle exiting system. This should fix issues related to randomly being teleported in the air etc.
  • Added the "view" content button (for skinboxes) in the global inventory. You no longer have to view content for a box in the marketplace, you can do it in your own global inventory now.
  • Added a sound notification when an item can't be given to you. For example when you finished a mission but your backpack was full, the mission reward would drop on the ground. Players didn't realize and lost the item like that. At least there is a sound notification now.
  • Added various Halloween content for the upcoming Halloween Week event.
  • Added several new grass/nature related content such as mushrooms and other details. This is not used in the game yet but we do plan on bringing more detailed nature ambient into the game soon. Don't worry, we'll make sure it's all optimized to the max.

  • Fixed the FPS drop issue when rotating the camera around the spiked zombie models. Also created new LODs and optimized the models.
  • CONNECTIONS:
  • A major issue (mostly for European players) that is still remaining is the "high ping player issue". We have received a lot of reports from all of you (mostly European) and we'd like to thank you all for that and let you know we are working on finding a solid and direct solution.
  • First of all we'd like to ask everyone that is playing in regions they have a high ping in, to please switch as much as possible to closer regions. It seems like a lot of players simply don't understand how ping works and the best start is to ask all of you to help them. We aim to, of course, have every player play in "their own region". As hopefully all of you understand and expect is that this is not the only thing; we are working on systems and solutions to prevent players with too high ping to play in certain servers.
  • We have the ping limited servers but this does not always work for every player. We considered making every server in every region (at least the official servers) ping limited but this will not work as some players from these regions simply won't be able to play in their own region anymore.
  • For now we have added a new system that recognizes if a player has too high ping. If so, the player will get kicked after a short amount of time with the message: "Your ping is too high! Please switch to a closer region!". Note that we have also translated this message in every language to make sure all players understand this.
  • We will keep working on improvements regarding the situation. We hope you all understand we can't make too abrupt changes either but we definitively aim to "solve" this issue once and for all. It's also important you guys let us know your feedback after the patch; if the situation got better, worse, etc. Therefor we have created a special forum thread where you can leave all your feedback.   • HONG KONG SERVERS:
  • The Hong Kong private server might not be back available after the update. This is because we are switching the machine to a better one with the aim to fix all the issues. This might result in the server not being ready when we want so it might be delayed. Depending on the downtime we will consider compensation.
  • LEGACY:
  • We have now created a special legacy icon. This to indicate which items, mainly skinboxes, are legacy. Legacy in The New Z means that this box is no longer available in the marketplace for direct purchase. The ONLY way to get any Legacy box is by trading (if another player has one) or from rewards/events that we do. This icon is added as well to inform new and older players that this certain item (skinbox) is worth "something". Note that you can't get legacy boxes from re-rolling skins. Here is what the icon looks like:
  • Cool to know is that the following skinboxes are from now on officially legacy: Normal Skinbox, Premium Skinbox, Epic Skinbox, Blue Limited Skinbox, Green Limited Skinbox, Orange Limited Skinbox, Purple Limited Skinbox, Red Limited Skinbox, Yellow Limited Skinbox, Christmas Skinbox, Valentine Skinbox, Red Strike Skinbox, Halloween Skinbox, Elite Skinbox, Autumn Skinbox, Winter Skinbox, Easter Egg Basket.

  • A little quality improvement: skin recipes can now be "Legendary". This to indicate a certain recipe is worth something / very rare. The legendary one will be extremely rare and therefor extremely hard to get. With this said here's what each crate will contain from now: (note that upon opening you will lose the crate and get 1 random of the following items)

  • PVE SPECIALIST CONTRACTS:
  • Based on you guy's demand and all your feedback we have reconsidered options in the recently released "specialist contracts" series. We have done some improvements and came up with the conclusion that's it's probably the best to make a secondary series but then aimed more towards the PVE player.
  • For now, we have decided to make the exact same specialist contracts. The only difference is that instead of killing 50 players you'll have to kill 5000 zombies to complete this contract.
  • These contracts will be called "(weapon name) PVE Specialist Contract". They are available the same way as any other contract but they are a bit more find-able than from the OW contract box. (This to also aim again more towards that PVE player)

  • Fixed a bug where players got the standard background after logging out of the game.
  • Fixed a problem with the Contract Box (SURV) where the contract went into the Open World global inventory.
  • Survival contracts got moved in to your Survival global inventory.
  • Fixed a problem where it was showing the Contract Box (OW) inside the Survival marketplace.
  • Fixed/improved the Gold Skins. They should look now better.
  • Fixed the amount of rare loot on Colorado V1 Survival.
  • Fixed a crash which was happening after few times loading in a server.

  • Fixed an issue causing some people to get random "freezes" / "stuck" while running.
  • Fixed a glitch related to the MP5/10 SD sound / Tactical silencer sound where this sound would continuously play in the menu and glitch out.'
  • Fixed a crash related to a missing icon called "item_lootbox".
  • Fixed a bug related to vehicles. (Was happening mostly in the Battle Royale game mode)
  • Fixed an issue causing the unskin feature not remembering your choice.
  • Fixed an issue with the voip servers in our Hong Kong region.
  • Optimized the sound source to prevent crashes / corrupted builds and other problems. Deleted sounds that were not in use.
  • Pickup up pistols should prioritize the secondary slot.
  • You can no longer equip non-learned or non-allowed skins by using the load-out system.
  • Moved the exit button on the player death screen. A lot of times people accidently clicked it and to prevent this we have moved the button.

  • From now on the we able to rotate maps / servers live.

  • Increased the speed / power of the zombie killer bus. This so this vehicle can get on top of hills a little bit easier.

  • Fixed a glitch in the fire station building where from the inside there was a gap players could shoot through. (in the fire station doors)
  • Fixed a glitch related to one of the enter able small shed house. Players could not walk through the door properly. (Example: https://prnt.sc/j6aunh)
  • Reverted back the head change of one of the heads of the mechanic characters. Added back the hat on top of the head. This now glitches through equipped hats again.

  • There is no more cool-down for using the bus system in this map.
  • SMALLVILLE:
  • Fixed some flying objects.
  • Fixed some no-clippable (invisible) walls.
  • COLORADO V1:
  • Removed the invisible walls which were inside the airport tower.
  • Estimated patch size: 320 mb. (Once again due to the pre-content we are already adding for the new map so that players don't have to download a huge patch when the new map gets released.
