  • Stargazer
  • Stargazer has received a cursor aim, developed to improve her gameplay with gamepads. This cursor will also be available when playing with keyboard/mouse.
  • Ranked Mode:
  • Overview:
  • Competition has reached the next level. The new mode adds a new matchmaking, in which the matches played are accounted for an individual player score. This score is used to rank each player under a Division. The divisions are:
  • Bronze Division
  • Silver Division
  • Gold Division
  • Heavy Metal Division
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold divisions have 5 subdivisions, from V (five) to I (one). For example, after the 10 placement matches, an account may start at Bronze III (bronze three), and then progress to Bronze II, Bronze I, and then is promoted to Silver V, where it shall keep progressing until reaching Gold I.
  • The Bronze, Silver and Gold Divisions encompasses 1.000 ranking points, and each sub-division encompasses 200 points. The Heavy Metal Division is a special tier for the top 10 players from Gold I division.
  • At the end of each season, players will receive exclusive rewards according to the highest Division reached within the season. The higher the Division, the better are the rewards.
  • How does it work?:
  • The Ranked mode is located under the Play button on the main menu. Click on it and then choose “Ranked Mode”.
  • The ranked matches have some unique properties:
  • Only accounts with more than 5 matches (custom matches doesn’t count) played can join the ranked queue;
  • There can be only 4x4 matches;
  • It will be available on a specific time in each region: Europe, North America, and South America;
  • Only solo players or duo groups can join the Ranked queue;
  • The Ranked matches will be played on Metal God Arena or Temple of Sacrifice.
  • The ranking points are global, which means that a player from European servers (or from any other region) can play matches during the periods in which the Ranked queue is available in other regions. However, keep in mind that communicating with players from other regions can be difficult, and the ping in different regions may vary, and this can affect the match result.
  • Upon taking part in a ranked match for the first time, the first 10 matches will be “placement matches”. This means each player will play 10 matches until being effectively placed in a division.
  • During the placement matches, the player will be labeled as “Not ranked”.
  • Ranked Mode Schedule:
  • The Ranked mode will be available during specific periods, on each region, as follows:
  • North America Region
  • Monday~Friday: from 00h to 03h UTC-0
  • Saturday~Sunday: from 20h to 02h UTC-0

  • Players can check the schedule for each day by clicking on the Schedule button on the Ranked mode menu.
  • Ranked Mode Seasons:
  • The Ranked Mode is held on seasons, and each season will last for a few months. Here’s the schedule for season 1:
  • Season 1: From July 24th to December 10th
  • Rewards:
  • There are two different rules used to deliver the rewards on each season:
  • The first rule applies to players who will receive rewards of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold divisions. These players receive the reward based on the highest division reached within the season. In other words, a player that reached Gold Division, but ended the season under Silver Division, will receive the Gold Division rewards.
  • The second rule applies to players in the Heavy Metal Division. They will only receive the reward of that division in case they end the season in it, otherwise, they receive the Gold Division reward.
  • Bronze Division Rewards:
  • Spray: Bronze Badge
  • Emote: Bronze Badge
  • Silver Division Rewards:
  • Spray: Silver Badge
  • Emote: Silver Badge
  • Wildfire’s Special Model 1

  • Gamepad:
  • The gamepad support has returned, much more polished and improved for the game. Play the way you want!
  • Overview:
  • Usually, gamepads counts with two directional sticks. The left stick is used to accelerate and move your machine to a direction. The right stick is used to command your cursor and aim certain weapons, such as Peacemaker’s weapon 1 and Stargazer’s weapons.
  • The left and right bumpers and triggers are the default buttons for the weapons. Right bumper and trigger are weapon 1 and 2, respectively. Left bumper and triggers are weapon 3 and 4, respectively.
  • The button B (for Xbox) or O (PS4) are used to activate the grabber to grab/release the bomb, and also launch the bomb.

  • It is possible to customize the right stick behavior, such as sensitivity and maximum distance for camera movement. It’s also possible to set the cursor always to move back to the center of the machine when you release it, or to be static in a direction.
  • Supported controllers:
  • Any gamepad will run normally on HMM, however, some specific models have official support, which means that the game interface icons will adjust according to the model used. Currently, the controllers for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PS4 have this feature.
  • Other models will display the interface icons from Xbox 360.
  • Partial support on the menus:
  • Currently, the gamepad has only partial support on the game menus. You can join the Casual mode queue by pressing A (Xbox) or X (PS4) on the main menu until you get into the queue.
  • The navigation on the Shop and Metal Pass are not yet supported.
  • Balance:

  • Weapon 2 - Blade Rip:
  • All the blades launched are activated to return to Vulture. On enemies that have blades attached to them, deals 25 damage per blade.
  • Blades returning to Vulture that pass through enemies deals 50 damage.
  • Weapon 3 - Soul Ravage:
  • Jumps forward, allowing Vulture to pass through enemies. Consumes the marks on enemies marked by the "Mark of the Hunt". Each mark deals 35 base damage and an additional 15 for each mark.
  • This weapon has 6 seconds cooldown. If you damage enemies with marks, weapon 3 cooldown is reduced by 50%, and if you kill any marked enemies with it, the cooldown is reduced by 100%.
  • Special Weapon - Thrill of the Hunt:
  • After 1 second, launches 5 blades around him, dealing 75 damage per blade on each enemy hit. Launches 1 additional blade for each kill made by Vulture, up to 30 blades.
  • New item category: Emotes:
  • A new item category has been added to the game. Up to 5 different emotes can be equipped on the inventory.
  • By pressing the D key, the radial menu will appear - move the mouse cursor over the emote you want to activate.
  • This is a very good way to show your feelings to your team - and taunt your enemies (why not?).
  • Dirt Devil's Special Weapon visual effect update
  • Dirt Devil’s special weapon had its visual effects updated, and now the sand worm will rise from the depths to crush all enemies. The art team had been working on this for a while and we’re very happy to finally add it to the game on its best form.

  • Fixed the description text from Killer J. “Little Pope J.” model.
  • Fixed a bug on Killer J. “Little Pope J.” model purchase screen, that was displaying another model.
  • Known Issues:
  • Vulture:
  • Weapon 3 description is referring to the character as “him” and not “Vulture”.
  • When using the Special Weapon while standing/passing over Rampage, the blade damage will be applied, but Rampage won’t receive the marks accordingly.
  • Weapon 1 animation does not appear when using it for the first time in a round.
  • Sometimes Vulture can get through Windrider’s weapon 2 effect.
  • When Vulture is moving on its own axis, the engine sound is the same used when the machine is not moving at all.
  • Using weapon 1 on a wall and using weapon 2 right after may cause - in rare occasions - the next blade used to stay on the ground in front of Vulture.
  • Using weapon 2 to retrieve applied blades reset the mark timer even if the enemy is immune (i.e. Little Monster’s weapon 2 and Windrider’s special weapon).
  • Using special weapon very close to barriers (such as Icebringer’s rear ice) will cause damage on that enemy.
  • In some rare occasions, when there are two Vultures on the same match, enemies may respawn with blade marks. This is a visual bug.
  • In some rare occasions, Vulture’s marks get stuck on enemies until the next hit they take.
  • Photon:
  • The emotes are not working when using it with Photon. This issue will be fixed on July 11th with a hotfix.

New in Heavy Metal Machines 2.05.956 (Jan 3, 2019)

  • I have some great news for all of you, including the new players. We have a new version of the Training being launched today. First of all, I will be with you throughout the whole process. You’ll drive my amazing machine. Just like a driver’s license, this Training is mandatory for new players -- Veterans won’t be taken to it, but are welcome to visit as well. Of course, you can skip it, but I definitely recommend doing the tutorial.
  • I’ll give you 4 missions to teach the basics of Heavy Metal Machines. Here they are:
  • Drive the machine to the objective so you learn how to accelerate and move around;
  • Destroy one enemy. In this case, you will be able to kill Little Monster who’s carrying the bomb -- Don’t worry, she won’t cause you any harm;
  • Retrieve the bomb and accelerate to the final line;
  • Throw the bomb to finish the round.
  • Great job! Pretty quick, right? I hope you all enjoy the new Training with me :)
  • There are some other stuff being implemented, such as the weapon description screen -- a.k.a the “F1 Screen”. When you press “F1” in a match, you will see details about that pilot’s weapon. Let me show you how mine looks like now:
  • As you can see, there are details of damage and all those numbers you love :)
  • What about this new feature at the beginning of the round? It will grab your attention and make you see exactly where you are at and which is your machine. By the way, the Instructor also received some adjustments to explain everything to the new players better.
  • Last but not least, the Metal Xmas event came to an end and the prices are back to what they were.
  • Hey, cheer up, you still have one month to get the season 2 of the Metal Pass Premium!
  • See you in the arena!

  • Stargazer is the new pilot in Heavy Metal Machines. She came all the way from space to provide support to the challengers. J.J. - or Jada Jemison, pilots the hover equipped with powerful satellites that orbit over Metal City. To develop this character we counted on our amazing community, who provided us with the right information to create a very much needed contender.
