What's new in Gigachess 1.23

  • Longer descriptions of power-ups, Endless mode Mutators and other mechanics may now be easily viewed during gameplay when hovering over the appropriate objects, and a toggle control to turn this feature on/off is available from the drop-down menu (extended tooltips are switched on by default for all 1st time players)
  • A number of optimization tweaks have resulted in a significant performance boost, CPU + memory usage is roughly 40% better than v1.22
  • All of the hints in Knight's Dungeon mode have been updated and now include the official solution's ending square marked off in addition to the opening two moves for each stage
  • A clearer method for switching between mouse and gamepad has been added to the drop-down menu, a checkmark now appears next to the currently prioritized input method
  • A bug where having a gamepad connected could prevent you from switching back over to using the mouse for controlling gameplay fixed
  • A bug where the level preview for stage 28 in Knight's Dungeon mode displayed a slightly incorrect layout fixed

New in Gigachess 1.22 (Feb 6, 2019)

  • Performance grades in Endless mode achieved with any party configuration on any difficulty are now backed up internally, with the best grade achieved by the selected party displaying at the bottom right of the party builder screen
  • Beating a previously achieved grade with a party causes a special pop-up to appear on the scoring screen at the end of the run
  • A bug with the performance grade calculation where the grade displayed at the end of an Endless run might change unexpectedly after a moment's wait fixed
  • Automatic vertical centering of the game window on launch has been adjusted slightly to be better positioned
  • The right analog stick on many USB gamepads can now be used to control the cursor in addition to the left analog stick

  • Knight's Dungeon mode providing a 40-stage set of knight's tour-inspired puzzles to maze through
