  • Matchmaking:
  • Over the course of the past few weeks, we've rolled out various small updates to matchmaking. Now that we've had time to assess their effects on matchmaking data, we've found the following results:
  • Average time to find a match has been improved in most regions by about ~15 seconds
  • Matchmaking times have been slightly crunched, so super long and super short queue times occur less frequently
  • Average match quality has been slightly improved, as the player pool has been expanded due to algorithm changes
  • However, players may still get longer queue times than we'd like due to these changes being counteracted by the decreasing player population. We'll continue to work on improving matchmaking as much as possible, but our upper cap is currently limited by concurrent users.

  • Overload was released in a big, splashy experimental state to ensure that it made an impact on Arena rounds. Overload was designed to increase skillful play on both sides in situations where one team is down a player, rather than allowing the game to get into a stale state. In certain situations, Overload is perfect for remedying this problem. In other situations, Overload is overly effective and puts too much emphasis on the game state after a player has died. We want to scale this back to make sure that the portion of the game before a player dies is always vital in all matches.
  • While we're adjusting Overload now, we're simultaneously looking into other combinations of methods to address those stale game situations. If Overload can't be adjusted to a less polarizing state, then it's on the table to disable Overload in Arena until we can re-evaluate this kind of mechanic. We'll also be adding the option to toggle Overload in Private Lobbies in the near future.

  • With the introduction of the Battle Pass come the Battle Seasons, starting with Battle Season 1. We’re restarting the season counter to make it clear when the Battle Pass and its related changes were introduced and that the Season is shared between both games.
  • The Battle Pass:
  • Progress your Battle Pass by leveling your Tier level, with each Tier level having new rewards to potentially unlock. Advancing to the next Tier level requires 10 Battle Stars, which can be earned by leveling up your Season Level, completing Daily Quests, or completing Season Quests.

  • 10 Tiers + 4 Extra for 1,500 Gems
  • Tiers purchased after the max Tier of 50 will be converted into Season XP. All Battle Star progress is kept and applied to your new Tier level.
  • Season Level:
  • The Season Level is a new type of Account Level that resets every Season. Gain 2 Battle Stars every time you level up, and 5 Battle Stars every 5th level. Once a player has reached a max Tier level of 50, any Battle Stars earned will be converted into Season XP, which increases a player’s Season Level. Season Level history will be shown in the profile from Battle Season 2 onward.
  • Account Level:
  • Account Levels are still around! Account Levels now represent your total accumulated level from previous and current Seasons in both Battlerite and Battlerite Royale. No legacy Account Levels have been lost. Account Level is displayed in the profile, above your current Season Level, and in the Friends List.
  • New Season Quests:
  • Every Battle Season now brings new quests that unlock each week for ten weeks! Season Quests are not shared between Battlerite and Battlerite Royale and can only be progressed in their respective game client. However, both will contribute to the same Battle Pass progress. Season quests can only be progressed in Casual and League. There are Free and Premium Quests – Free Quests can be progressed by all players, but Premium Quests require upgrading the Battle Pass to progress. In Battlerite there are:
  • 1 Free Quest per week
  • 1 Premium Quest per week
  • Total of 20 Quests per Season
  • 8 Battle Stars rewarded per completed Quest (Free and Premium)
  • Daily Quests
  • Daily Quests have been reworked and are now shared between Battlerite and Battlerite Royale. Each completed Daily Quest rewards 150 Battle Coins and 3 Battle Stars. Daily Quests can be progressed in Vs AI, Casual, and League. Don’t forget that Daily Quests still progress signed Sponsors!
  • Additionally, some old Daily Quests have been removed and new ones added. The new Daily Quest pool consists of the following quests:

  • Champions that are rewarded through sponsors are now unlocked in both Battlerite and Battlerite Royale, though Champions no longer provide token compensation when the Champion is already owned.
  • There are five sponsors for Battle Season 1. Three Sponsors return from previous seasons and two new Sponsors join them. The Stewards of the Arena are available for all players to progress and will unlock Raigon and a unique Raigon weapon and outfit. The Halls of Triumph sponsor is only available for players who have upgraded to the Premium Battle Pass and contains a unique pose, outfit, and weapon for Jumong.
  • If you are still signed with a sponsor from Season 5 you will still be able to complete it. All sponsors from previous seasons will be marked with a star.
  • Boosts:
  • Due to the change to Season Levels and introduction of the Battle Pass, Boosts have much more value than previously. For this reason, Boosts now grant a 50% Season XP bonus instead of 100% Account Level XP bonus. Boosts will still grant 100% Champion XP and double the Battle Coins earned from matches as previously. You can purchase XP Boosts in your profile.
  • 10% Season XP Boosts can be earned by progressing through the Premium Battle Pass and stack additively.

  • Overload
  • Overload was designed specifically to deal with boring endgame scenarios. On the winning side, having an additional player means you have time on your side and incentivizes you to play in a safe and drawn out way. The losing side can’t win the long game against a team with reliable value like healing and more available abilities, so they have to take a risk to make a comeback happen. However, many players won’t take the risk even if it’s their only chance to win the round. Instead, they will run away hoping for their enemies to make a big mistake. It’s not a fun or particularly skillful way to play the game for either side and the predictable way these scenarios play out makes it even less fun. This wait is doubly painful if you are dead and want the round to end.
  • Overload is meant to end rounds in way that is quick, fun, and fair. The damage amplification in both directions rewards aggressive play from both sides. The movement speed reduces cooldown reliance and allows the user to set the pace while the time limit forces them to take the initiative. We are increasing the comeback chances by making the game more volatile rather than giving the losing team an advantage. The winning team may need to play better to close out a round but they still have the advantage. Even if a user equalizes the game state through a kill, the remaining enemies have the option to overload if they too want to gamble on their skill.
  • For additional reading material on Overload, check out your latest Dev Update at the local blog.
  • The ability works as follows:
  • Default Keybind: T

  • As we mentioned in the Dev Update, we’re adding some variety to our Arenas and adding some experimental new map objects. The follow maps have received updates:
  • Meriko Summit (Day and Night) now has Explosive Barrels
  • Blackstone Arena (Day and Night) now has Explosive Barrels
  • Daharin Battlegrounds (Day and Night) now has Jump Pads
  • Skyring (Day and Night) now has Jump Pads
  • Explosive Barrels
  • When damaged, the Explosive Barrel explodes after a 1.2 second delay. It deals 20 damage, and leaves a damaging fire area that deals 30 damage over 4 seconds.
  • Jump Pads
  • By stepping into the jump pad circle, you are blasted high into the air where you are unhittable. You rise and fall over a total of 4 seconds. After landing, you are stuck in a recovery animation for 1s and you inflict Incapacitate for 1.5s on nearby enemies.
  • Jump Pads have a cooldown period of 40 seconds and begin each round on cooldown.
  • Movement Speed Increases
  • As mentioned in the aforementioned Big Patch™ Dev Update, movement speed will be increasing across the board in this patch while Champion’s health is also being lowered. The following changes to health and Champion movement speed will be implemented:

  • Champion Updates:
  • With the addition of Armory, the era of the last generic rites has concluded. Jolting Amulet and Wind Walkers serve the role of Inspiration and Agility respectively and remove the need for these rites to exist. Armory will serve as the stronghold for generic effects usable by all champions, whereas Rites will firmly be the bastion of champion-specific augmentations.

  • Croak has always utilized the same reloading ammo system that Iva, Ezmo, and Jade use. However, it works quite differently as Croak can still attack without ammo, just at a much slower pace. Changing his weapon system to use the charged weapon system in Royale really illustrated that it was a lot more consistent and intuitive this way. We’ve decided to bring that over to Arena. New in Battlerite Arena 1.11.0 (Feb 2, 2019)

  • Battlerite Arena Patch 1.11 brings Legends of Quna to Talon Island. As stated in our earlier Dev Update, this is a smaller event as we prepare for the coming Big Patch™.
  • Lunar New Year:
  • Lunar New Year has begun! It's time to celebrate the changing of the moons and this year's zodiac animal - the Pig!
  • Lunar Cosmetics are once again displayed in game and available for direct purchase with either Tokens or Gems. During this event Silver Chests can no longer be purchased with Battlerite Coins and have been replaced with Lunar Chests. Likewise, leveling up your Account Level will reward a Lunar Chest instead of a Silver Chest during this event. Lunar Chests contain three random drops and guarantee at least one rare drop and one random Lunar Item.
  • Dragon Chests are also available for purchase with Gems. These contain three drops and guarantee a non-duplicate Epic or Legendary Lunar cosmetic.
  • Lunar Cosmetics:
  • One new Legendary Outfit has been added to the game, along with a brand-new Legendary Mount. These are obtainable either through direct purchase or through event chests. Champions that previously did not have a Lunar Weapon or Pose have now received one as well.
  • Quests:
  • Win 15 Casual or League Rounds as a Melee Champion
  • Available between January 30 at 8:00 AM UTC to February 6 at 8:00 AM UTC
  • Rewards 3 Lunar Chests
  • Win 15 Casual or League Rounds as a Support Champion
  • Available between February 6 at 8:00 AM UTC to February 13 at 8:00 AM UTC
  • Rewards 3 Lunar Chests
  • Win a Casual or League Match as a Champion of each Champion Type (Melee, Ranged, Support)
  • Available between February 13th at 8:00 AM UTC to February 19 at 8:00 AM UTC
  • Rewards 1 Dragon Chest
  • General Updates:
  • Audio:
  • Voiceover balance has been adjusted for Poloma, Croak, Freya, Jumong, Shifu, Jamila, Ezmo, Raigon, Thorn, and Bakko.
  • Gameplay Updates:
  • Reflected piercing projectiles can now hit targets they have previously hit. Generally this affects orbs caught between a piercing projectile and a reflect ability.
  • Champion Updates:
  • Our midrange Champions have a long-standing issue for dipping in and out of combat. Against ranged Champions, moving closer to the enemy makes it easier to be hit before the midrange champion can even start attacking. Against melee Champions, closing the distance is extremely dangerous. Ezmo, Jade, and Taya gain a slight amount of movement speed in this patch and we are considering further adjustment in the future.
  • Ezmo:
  • Movement speed increased from 3.4 to 3.5
  • Jade:
  • Movement speed increased from 3.4 to 3.5
  • Pearl:
  • Dive (Space)
  • Range increased from 6 to 7
  • Ruh Kaan:
  • By taking Demonic Hunt, Ruh Kaan has a whopping three (!) instant escapes between his Sinister Strikes and Nether Void. Once you add in Consume, especially when backed up by his Gorge rite, Ruh Kaan barely has a vulnerable window in common situations. While he has always had a weakness of finishing his victims slowly, Ruh Kaan should not be able to achieve this level of safeness by only investing two rites. To further amplify his drawback, damage has been moved from Sinister Strike to Nether Chains to incentivize taking more offensive rites for players seeking to apply pressure.
  • Sinister Strike (Space)
  • Damage reduced from 16 to 12
  • Battlerites:
  • Nether Chains (Space)
  • Now grants 6 bonus damage in addition to inflicting Curse
  • Demonic Hunt (Space)
  • Cooldown penalty increased from 2s to 4s
  • Gorge (Q)
  • Cooldown reduction per negated attack reduced from 1.5/1.0/0.5s to 1/0.6/0.4s
  • Shen Rao
  • Shen Rao’s most commonly taken rites and most complained about rites are those that give him empowered Shock Blasts. The intention for Shen Rao's empowered Shock Blast area is to make an ability that rewards you for being at a very specific range, similar to Croak’s Frog Leap. While that range is currently too large, his ability to siege from afar and force his targets to approach is a defining feature and we do not want to remove this entirely. Shock Blasts now have reduced area and detonate further away, offering greater counterplay.
  • As Ascension is Shen Rao’s only dodge ability, we hesitate to nerf Ascension too much. A reduction in max range for both the initial cast and the recast for those who take the rite reduce the speed at which Shen Rao can close the gap or escape any given situation.
  • As we often do for new champions, we will be buffing some of his less popular rites (Roar of the Heavens, Entertainment & Effortless Defense) to increase flexibility. It's not meant to make him stronger overall but to open up more options. We’re keeping an eye out for his Storm Bolt rites Eyewall & Puppeteer as both rites taken together form a strong combo that zones out an entire enemy team with every Storm Bolt hit.
  • Ascension (Space)
  • Max range reduced from 5 to 4.5
  • Dragon Storm (F)
  • Snare factor reduced from 35% to 15%
  • Battlerites:
  • Empowered Shock Blast (Dragon Force, Storm Drain, and Sphere of Influence Rites)
  • Radius reduced from 0.8 to 0.65
  • Area of Effect is more consistently placed in the center of the explosion
  • Bonus damage reduced from 3 to 2
  • Puppeteer (M2)
  • Recast goes away if the projectile misses or hits a wall
  • Entertainment (M2)
  • Healing increased from 12 to 16
  • Shen Rao also finds it particular entertaining to watch his weakling foes run away in fear
  • Dragon Descent (Space)
  • Airtime increased from 0.45s to 0.5s
  • Max range reduced from 5 to 4.5
  • Storm Drain (Q)

  • Champion Updates:
  • In this patch, we revisit some champions that have not seen any changes for a while and strengthen a few rites with low to middling pick rates in order to offer additional viable choices for their loadouts. Beyond that some of the remaining outliers see further adjustment.
  • Ashka:
  • Battlerites:
  • Combustion (M2):
  • Bonus area damage increased from 8 to 9
  • Wildfire (M2):
  • No longer increases cooldown of Fire Storm
  • Ember Fire (Q):
  • Shield Value increased from 10 to 14
  • Bakko:
  • Battlerites:
  • Adrenaline Rush (Space):

  • Croak:
  • Battlerites:
  • Time to Strike (Q):
  • Added to Basic Loadout
  • Ezmo:
  • Chaos Grip (M2):
  • Max damage increased from 20 to 22
  • Jumong:
  • We continue our act of fine-tuning Jumong's capabilities by reducing Rain of Arrow's overall DPS and EPS while shifting some of that power onto the ability's zoning capabilities. Conversely, we are trying to keep Jumong's overall zoning payoff similar by lowering the reward of Bear Trap.
  • Rain of Arrows (Q):
  • Duration increased from 1.5s to 1.8s
  • Bear Trap (E):
  • Root duration reduce from 2s to 1.8s
  • Oldur:
  • Oldur sees his playstyle switch slightly more as he gets an additional way to consume Time Bomb, but loses the standard damage output on Shifting Sands to further solidify his identity as more of a backloaded damage-dealing support.
  • Shifting Sands (Space)
  • No longer deals damage when passing through enemies
  • Now consumes Time Bomb when passing through enemies to instantly trigger its effect (like it consumes Rejuvenate on allies)
  • Pearl
  • Battlerites:
  • Riptide (Space):
  • Root duration increased from 1s to 1.2s
  • Tsunami (Q):
  • Damage increased from 10 to 12
  • Tasty Fish (E):
  • Healing increased from 8 to 10
  • Sirius:
  • Battlerites:
  • Sunbath (M2):
  • Additional healing increased from 12 to 14
  • Cosmic Reach (Space):
  • Bonus max range increased from 20% to 25%
  • Moonstone (E):
  • Cooldown reduction increased from 2s to 2.5s
  • Varesh
  • Devastation allows Varesh to exert a palpable amount of pressure. This change tempers it but still allows for fairly high-speed Hand of Judgement usage. Unlimited Power, renamed Perpetuity to reduce confusion with the Absolute Power rite, now also triggers when Wuju consumes Corruption. To balance out this new compatibility it sees a reduction to its bonus effect.
  • Battlerites:
  • Unlimited Power (M1):
  • Renamed to Perpetuity
  • Now also triggers when Corruption is consumed through Wuju
  • Bonus snare duration reduced from 0.5s to 0.25s
  • Devastation (M2):
  • No longer resets Hand of Judgement's cooldown on hit, instead reduces it by 1s (on hit)
  • Silence (M2):
  • Renamed to Mute
  • Wonder (Space):
  • Bonus Shield value reduced from 14 to 12

New in Battlerite Arena 1.9.0 - Curse of the Night (Oct 25, 2018)

  • Curse of the Night – Halloween Event:
  • Creepy items are back in the world of Battlerite, along with the dark and dangerous things in the world. 3 new Creepy Outfits and several new Creepy Weapons are now in game, and all past Creepy Outfits, Weapons, Mounts, and Poses return to take part in the devious delights. This time around you can purchase these ghoulish items directly with Gems or Tokens besides finding them exclusively in Creepy Chests or Spooky Chests.
  • Spooky Chests can be earned by leveling up your Account Level, where they have temporarily replaced Silver Chests. These chests contain 3 random drops and guarantees at least 1 Rare item and 1 random Creepy item. They can also be purchased at 400 Battle Coins each.
  • Creepy Chests can only be obtained by completing limited-time Event Quests and unlike previous events will not be directly purchasable with Gems. These chests contain 3 random drops and guarantees 1 non-duplicate Epic or Legendary Creepy item. Owning all items results in duplicate items.
  • Creepy Items:
  • Creepy Items can be directly purchased with Gems or Tokens at the following costs:
  • Legendary Outfits:
  • 1250 Gems or 40000 Tokens
  • Weapons:
  • 400 Gems or 6000 Tokens
  • Poses:
  • 200 Gems or 4000 Tokens

  • General Updates:
  • Fixed a bug where you could get outside of the collision in most elevators by using certain dash abilities
  • CPU optimizations have been made for the effect systems. This should be noticeable when many effects are active at the same time
  • End of Season 3:
  • Season 3 Avatars will be rewarded depending on your placement for Season 3. The Top 5 in each region on the Leaderboards will receive a title for their placement.
  • Season 4:
  • Season 4 starts on October 17th, and includes two new sponsors, Clan Rook and The Drowned Spire. Four of the previous sponsors return, most of them brandishing new rewards. If you are still signed with a sponsor from Season 3 you will still be able to complete them. All sponsors from Season 3 will be marked with a star. Season 4 has a preliminary end date of December 12th, making it a shorter season. As such the amount of rewards available from the recurring sponsors have been adjusted to fit the shorter schedule.
  • UI:
  • Leaderboards now correctly show Champion composition percentages
  • Added a scrollbar to General Options
  • Fixed an issue where the chat would be filled with log in-log out notifications when briefly losing connection to chat
  • Fixed an issue where pressing tab in chat would not toggle chat session if a message was already written in the input field
  • Token drops in chests will now show the correct rarity color when hovered
  • Art:
  • Updated Ruh Kaan M1 and Space with new VFX and animations
  • Champion Updates
  • This patch sees an across the board reduction for most Crowd Control abilities with a duration of 2.5s or above. The purpose is to allow more overall active gameplay, reduce some of the frustration involved in being Crowd Controlled and noticeably reduce the duration of chained Crowd Controls. These abilities are still meant to be viable as disengages, but the changes will allow for more active gameplay versus champions with powerful Crowd Control. Beyond that, the state of balance in Battlerite has been stable during the last patch, which is something we want to preserve as we move forward. As such we’re using somewhat of a lighter touch than usual when addressing outlying champions.
  • Alysia:
  • Alysia sees some of the power in her Glacial Prism rites shifted around, with her overall defensive power strengthened.
  • Freeze (Debuff)
  • Duration reduced from 3.3s to 3s
  • Battlerites:
  • Crystalline Lattice (Q)
  • Bonus shield value increased from 12 to 14
  • Bonus radius moved to Wintry Blast
  • Wintry Blast (Q)
  • Now also increases radius of explosion by 20% (from 2.5 to 3)
  • Chill bonus duration removed
  • Arctic Cloak (E)
  • Shield value increased from 12 to 16
  • Vandalism (R)
  • Now also reduces cooldown of Ice Crown by 2s
  • Ashka:
  • Molten Chains (EX Q)
  • Petrify duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s
  • Bakko:
  • War Stomp (EX Space)
  • Incapacitate duration reduced from 2.5s to 2.2s
  • Croak:
  • Cut to the Chase was a rite intended to enhance a playstyle where you’re able to carefully pick your opportunity to engage. However, in most situations, it led to frustration for opponents as it gave Croak the ability to simply wait out most defensive moves and still engage afterward. In the future, we’ll look into other rites for Croak’s rite tree that could add additional interesting choices, but for now Cut to the Chase has been removed.
  • Deceit (EX Q)
  • Incapacitate duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s
  • Battlerites:
  • Cut to the Chase (Q)
  • Removed
  • Ezmo:
  • Ezmo receives some additional power to two of his middling rite choices.
  • Battlerites:
  • Exhaust (M1)
  • Fading Snare duration increased from 0.4s to 0.5s
  • Bolted (E)
  • Category changed from Offense to Utility
  • Face Melt (E)
  • Chaos Grip (M2) now also deals 2 bonus damage to enemies rooted by Shackle
  • Iva:
  • Iva’s versatility makes her a useful pick in many compositions. The utility she offers is something we want to retain, but the old lady continued to be a bit too slippery for the utility she provided. As such that slipperiness sees some adjustment. Conductor should now surprise players less.
  • Concussive Shot (EX E)
  • Incapacitate duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s
  • Battlerites:
  • U-Turn (Space)
  • Recast duration reduced from 2s to 1.8s
  • Rocket Booster (Space)
  • Haste factor reduced from 35% to 30%
  • Conductor (E)
  • Time before the second projectile fires increased from 0.3s to 0.4s
  • Jamila:
  • After she briefly rose to prominence, some of the latest changes ended up tuning down Jamila a bit too much. As such, we’re returning some of her previous damage output while also returning some utility to Quick Strike.
  • Elusive Strike (Space)
  • Minimum damage increased from 8 to 10
  • Shadow Dance (Q)
  • Shadow Slice (M1 when Shadow Dance has negated an attack) damage increased from 12 to 14
  • Hook Shot (E)
  • Initial damage increased from 6 to 8
  • Battlerites:
  • Quick Strike (Space)
  • Range increased from 3 to 3.2
  • Tooltip updated to clarify functionality
  • Jumong:
  • The Beast Hunter remains in a precarious situation in which he can be devastating in coordinated play but struggles in general matchmaking, which is a bit tricky to approach. These changes are a first step at trying to reduce his capabilities in the right hands while not hitting his overall performance too harshly.
  • Rain of Arrows (Q)
  • Initial energy gain reduced from 4% to 3% (total energy gain reduced from 7% to 6%)
  • Battlerites:
  • Trapper (E)
  • Distance between traps reduced from 2.5 to 1.85
  • Death Mark (Perk)
  • Bonus damage reduced from 4 to 3
  • Lucie:
  • Petrify Dart (EX E)
  • Petrify duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s
  • Oldur:
  • Oldur has a very strong identity as the ranged offensive support which is something we don’t want to stray too far from. With these changes, we shift some of his offensive output from upfront to backloaded, while reinforcing his role as a support by also giving him an option for burst healing.
  • Sands of Time (M1)
  • Damage reduced from 12 to 10
  • Time Bomb damaged increased from 8 to 10
  • Shifting Sands (Space)
  • Traveling through an ally with Rejuvenate will now consume it to instantly trigger its effect
  • Stone Glass (R)
  • Petrify duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s
  • Pearl:
  • Jaws (F)
  • Duration reduced from 3.4s to 3s
  • Raigon:
  • Raigon has remained in a strong position both in lower and higher levels of play. These changes should temper him a bit in both aspects.
  • Tectonic Shock (EX E)
  • Incapacitate duration reduced from 2s to 1.7s (including air time, total duration reduced from 3s to 2.7s)
  • Dragon Palm (R)
  • Damage from knocking an enemy into a wall decreased from 12 to 10
  • Battlerites:
  • Riposte (Q)
  • Recast is now only granted if Parry negates an attack

  • Tendon Swing (R)

  • Sirius:
  • Lunar Strike (E)
  • Petrify duration reduced from 3.4s to 3s
  • Taya:
  • Taya sees Surprise Attack returned to a former state, with some additional offensive power added to her rites. She also gets a new rite to give her an additional support option to choose from.
  • Wind Bomb (E)
  • Haste duration increased from 1s to 1.2s
  • Battlerites
  • Surprise Attack (M2)
  • Movement increased from 55% to 60%
  • Turbulence (Q)
  • Now also deals 3 bonus damage if the enemy is knocked into a wall
  • Wind Shield (New Support Rite) (R)
  • Upon landing the ally gains a shield that absorbs up to 14 damage for 3s
  • Cooldown reduced by 2s
  • Thorn:
  • Entangle (E)
  • Duration reduced from 2.5s to 2.2s
  • Ulric
  • Aegis of Valor (F)
  • Incapacitate duration reduced from 2.5s to 2.2s
  • Varesh
  • With Inspiration, Varesh was able to stock up on energy quickly and was often able to utilize Powers Combined without having to consider how safe the ability was to use, due to having Kinetic Energy available immediately afterwards. Without Inspiration, Varesh will be forced to be more careful with his ultimate and play a bit more safe in general.
  • Battlerites:
  • Inspiration (Perk)
  • Removed
  • Zander
  • Zander’s Stacked Deck saw a change a few months back that helped address his impressive burst potential at the time. After several changes to Arcane Catalyst, the previous power should fit better in his kit now without issue. He also sees some quality of life updates.
  • Grand Conjuration (M2)
  • Projectile speed increased from 26 to 28
  • Portal (Q)
  • Max teleport ranged increased from 7.5 to 8
  • Max teleport range with the Around the World rite increased from 9 to 9.6
  • Sheep Trick (E)

  • Once again includes an extra card for Zander

New in Battlerite Arena 1.6.1 (Jun 11, 2018)

  • Art:
  • Ulric visual effects optimized for gameplay and performance
  • Fixed a visual bug affecting Varesh's weapon "Ancient Forge Conductors"
  • Fixed a visual bug affecting the mount "Goblin Throne" that would cause a white box to appear
  • Fixed an issue where some trails stayed alive longer than intended.
  • Champion Updates:
  • With this patch we aim to smooth out current outliers in terms of Champion strength, without changing how rites or Champions work in substantial ways. We want to open up for additional choices at both the BPL Dreamhack finals and in general play, without stirring up the current state of the game dramatically.
  • Fixed another issue with certain M2 heals not finding targets correctly when throwing at a target next to a wall
  • Alysia
  • For Alysia we address her strong damage output slightly by adjusting some of her most popular rites. In addition it will no longer be as easy for her to apply a high duration Chill to enemies in close quarters.
  • Arctic Wind (Space)
  • Tooltip now shows Chill duration that is inflicted when using Arctic Wind
  • Battlerites
  • Ice Breaker (M2)
  • No longer deals bonus damage
  • Twirl (Space)
  • The second jump no longer inflicts Chill
  • Snowstorm (E)
  • Damage reduced from 6 x 2 (total 12) to 5 x 2 (total 10)
  • Bakko
  • Bakko sees a change to his newest rite in order to make it a bit more reliable and controllable.
  • Battlerites
  • Hold the Line (Q)
  • The first attack blocked with Bulwark now grants a shield absorbing 14 damage for 3s to the closest nearby ally and yourself, as opposed to a shield absorbing 18 to the closest ally with the least health.
  • Rampage (R)
  • Haste factor increased from 15% to 20%
  • Destiny
  • Battlerites:
  • Plasma Booster (E)
  • Fixed an issue where the shield gained through entering Plasma Wall would overwrite any shield gained through Transform Weapon
  • Iva
  • Iva has a very strong and versatile utility role in the current meta, something we want to preserve overall. However, with these changes she should be a little easier to pin down.
  • Battlerites:
  • Rocket Boosters (Space)
  • Haste factor reduced from 40% to 35%
  • Haste duration reduced from 2.5s to 2s

  • Fixed an issue where Sands of Time would pass through Ice Crown

  • Recreate (Space)
  • Damage absorbed by the shields granted reduced from 16 to 14

  • This change to Pearl will remove some of her strength in 2v2 and as a singular surviving champion, without affecting her performance in 3v3 in any significant way.
  • Healing Wave (M2)
  • Cooldown increased from 5s to 6s
  • Cooldown reduction per ally increased from 1.5s to 2s
  • Rook
  • There's no denying that Rook became a powerhouse with his latest changes. We feel like he is approaching a role of play that could be interesting, but the value he currently offers is indeed a bit over the top. For this patch we're toning down what he currently gains from most of his popular rites.
  • Battlerites
  • Weapon Break (M2)
  • Damage reduction reduced from 33% to 25%
  • No longer grants bonus damage

These exclusive chests contain in them BPL-themed items, and guarantee at least one non-duplicate Epic or Legendary item. Owning all items results in duplicates. Pro League items can only be obtained in Pro League Chests and cannot be purchased with Tokens.
  • To purchase Pro League Chests, players must first link their Battlerite and Twitch accounts (under the "Accounts" tab in Options). Pro League Chests can then be purchased for $4.99 (Exclusive VAT, prices may vary depending on country) on Friday, April 27th by navigating to the Battlerite Twitch Commerce Page. Purchasing a Pro League Chest will also reward a Twitch Crate that can include the Stormy Cloud Mount, Titles, Battlerite Emotes and Icons, and other Twitch items.
  • Twitch Commerce items can also be purchased beneath the streams of Partnered or Affiliated Streamers when they play Battlerite. When purchased here, 5% of the revenue will be given to the streamer.
  • Pro League items include:
  • Legendary Outfits, Epic Weapons, and Rare Poses for the following Champions:
  • Jade
  • Oldur
  • Rook
  • Shifu
  • Sirius
  • Champion Updates
  • This patch sees some sweeping number tweaks to several characters, with a few functionality changes as well in preparation for the start of the group stage of Battlerite Pro League (BPL). We've given attention to a few champions who have not seen it in a while as well as toned down some of the champions that have made the strongest showing in BPL and competitive play thus far. We are continuing our work with balancing out the attractiveness of the least and most picked rites. We have still refrained from bigger mechanical changes however due to the proximity of this patch to start of the BPL group stage.
  • Alysia
  • Alysia has had problems with claiming a spot for herself among the champions of Battlerite, as it's tricky for her to consistently combo and maximize its effectiveness. With these changes, we aim to let her more actively engage in battles, have a higher potential for CC and be safer when getting into close range to execute her combos.
  • Glacial Prism (Q)
  • Cooldown reduced from 9s to 8s
  • Ice Block (EX Q)
  • Cooldown reduced from 9s to 8s
  • Shield health increased from 40 to 50
  • Flash Freeze (E) & Snow Cone (EX E)
  • Cooldown reduced from 9s to 8s
  • Ice Crown (R)
  • Now inflicts 1.75s Chill on impact and 1.75s Chill when destroyed
  • Chill (Debuff)
  • Max snare factor increased from 25% to 30%
  • Battlerites
  • Figure Skating
  • Haste now triggers when Ice Block (EX Q) ends, instead of when applied
  • Bakko
  • The Axe and Shield rite makes it difficult to keep track of when Bakko has or doesn't have access to Bulwark. Toning it down narrows the possibility space of Bulwark being available for now, but the rite may warrant a closer look again in the future.
  • Battlerites
  • Axe and Shield
  • Cooldown reduction reduced from 1s to 0.5s
  • Blossom
  • One of Blossom's main problems is due to the squishiness of her Tree of Life. With this health increase it will now survive most strong M2 attacks, while still falling to two of most ranged M1 attacks.
  • Tree of Life (Q)
  • Health increased from 24 to 30
  • Boom Bloom (E)
  • Cooldown reduced from 8s to 7s
  • Battlerites

  • Sky Strike (Q)
  • Cooldown reduced from 9s to 8s
  • Ezmo
  • Ezmo has remained one of the most prominent ranged champions in competitive gameplay, with one of the main reasons being the strong Center Orb control due to his ultimate. It is something we will continue to examine, but for now we are reducing its collateral damage to enemy champions. Ezmo remains a very strong champion in other aspects too though. Ezmo will retain his Arcane Fire burst potential, but an increased reload time will decrease his overall damage.

  • Ulric
  • Ulric is truly Unwavering, shaping the competitive landscape around him. We still want to preserve his general playstyle, but have taken steps to make him more vulnerable while doing so. He's no longer able to take as much of a beating as before and there are additional windows to punish him now. He still retains strong healing capabilities for his allies, but will instead be less able to take care of himself, or may be forced to prioritize healing himself more than before. All of his most picked rites, which offered amazing value, have also been toned down in different ways.

  • Now reduces cooldown of Intervene by 4s instead of a a full cooldown reset.
  • Zander
  • Zander has been standing slightly behind Ulric, unwilling to let someone else take the spotlight. He sees adjustments in a couple of different ways, but most of all his healing has been toned down while he still retains much of his utility. The Portal is now more predictable than before, the time before someone reappears after entering it having been evened out and there's now a bigger opportunity to punish someone appearing before they can act. Zander is also no longer able to stay at as safe of a distance to use his Portal efficiently.

  • Champion Updates
  • As the first qualifiers for the Battlerite Pro League (BPL) begin shortly after this patch, balance changes for this patch are generally just number tweaks and many changes are aimed at evening out power difference between popular and less popular rites. As we move forward, we will consider bigger changes to rite or even ability functionality while taking consideration of BPL dates.

  • Iva
  • Battlerites
  • Tractor Pulse
  • Stun duration increased from 0.5s to 0.7s
  • Jade
  • With the last change to the Surprise Shot rite, Ambush garnered more attention and use. The amount of pressure Jade is able to exert with double Snipe is almost overbearing, so we are changing the cooldown reset to a cooldown reduction. With this change, Jade will still be able to Snipe, enter Stealth, and then begin casting another Snipe before Stealth runs out.
  • Battlerites
  • Ambush
  • Now reduces the cooldown of Snipe by 4s instead of resetting the cooldown

  • Damage reduced from 12 to 9
  • Angle reduced from 180 degrees to 150 degrees
  • Ulric
  • Ulric, the fierce crusader of light, truly arrived with his hammer swinging in full force. For now, we want to keep his playstyle as intact as possible, while addressing some of the value he gains through his less interactive abilities. As always with new champions, we will continue to keep a close eye on his performance.
