What's new in Autonauts Pre-Alpha 6.2

Aug 14, 2017
  • New buildings and items added!
  • Free Cam added. Take lots of lovely photos!
  • Bots now have a limited amount of memory for scripts.
  • Water Storage added.
  • Wait instruction added.
  • Variables added to support speedrunning.
  • Two new hats added.
  • The Bot Brain panel can be expanded in width by clicking the side button.
  • A new save/load dialog added.
  • Folk now visibly eat food.
  • Folk now like eating apples.
  • ** Tree seeds and stones now expire after 2 minutes (unless you pick them up), like dung does. **
  • Resized and moved the disclaimer for externally edited files. It can now also be clicked through :)
  • Inventory names have been replaced by icons and name rollover popups added.
  • Inventory capacity of Basic Bots reduced from 10 to 6.
  • Energy of Crude Bots reduced from 2 minutes to 1 minute.
  • Carry capacity of Basic Bots reduced from 6 to 4.
  • Cows no longer try to go for cereal or straw (for now; this was causing too many problems).
  • You shouldn't have been able to add ingredients to a Blueprint while standing inside it.
  • Bots were able to hold other Bots if you used the Inventory to drag them into the Bot's hands.
  • Repeat Until Storage Full was incorrectly reporting "not full" if a Bot was trying to put an invalid object into the storage.
  • Repeat Until Hands Full wouldn't work properly with any tools.
  • Putting a bucket into an incinerator would result in an invisible bucket still being in your hands. If play continued this would lead to a corrupted save file.
  • Mallets or chisels couldn't be put into storage.
  • It wasn't possible to whistle for a Bot if it only had MoveTo instructions.
  • If two Bots were waiting to recharge another Bot they would both attempt to recharge the same Bot when one became available.
  • If two Bots were waiting to milk a cow they would both attempt to milk the same cow when one became available. Ouchy!
  • If the Repeat dropdown was open when you picked up or stored an object, the game would no longer allow any user input.
  • If a Bot was trying to put something into a full Storage and you tried to put something else into the Storage the Bot would incorrectly think their item had been accepted and moved on to the next instruction.
  • If a Bot was moving to plant a seed but you placed a Blueprint on top of the Bot's destination, the Bot would plant the seed inside the Blueprint.
  • If a Beacon was put into a Bot's hands and you hovered the selector over the Beacon radius effect, the Bot would be selected.
  • Giving a bucket of milk to homeless Folk would lead to odd offsets.
  • Entering more than a single-digit number into Repeat X Times would only show the last digit.
  • Dung expired if it was picked up and put down.
  • Due to the width of the Bot Brain panel, you couldn't set a beacon for "Find nearest weeded soil."
  • Changing the setting of the Bench Saw to "Poles" as a Bot put a Log into it would result in the log being ejected and the Bench Saw unusable for the rest of the game.
  • Buckets from a Version 5 save wouldn't work.
  • Buckets couldn't be put into storage.
  • Bucket contents weren't being saved.
  • Bridges couldn't be built on deep water.
  • Bots couldn't route find to a bridge foundation.
  • Attempted fix for 'black' tiles on DX9 video cards.
  • A gate wouldn't animate open and shut when a Bot went through it.
  • A Bot couldn't be charged if it was standing in a gate.
  • A Bot couldn't be charged if it was standing in a Blueprint.
  • A Bot could dig under a Beacon, which meant a tree would grow around the Beacon and hide it.
  • If something was given to a Folk that it didn't want, and it was sitting next to deep water, it would sometimes throw the object into the water making it irretrievable.
  • If a player/bot tried to put an ingredient into an un-reachable blueprint the player/bot would head towards the top left corner of the map (but only if a bridge had been built to allow them access to the corner of the map).
  • Sometimes a bot couldn't find Tilled Soil even when it was right next to some.
  • Cereal Crops that were sown using Cereal Seed weren't growing to their full height when a level was loaded.
  • Bots are unable to find boulders when mining.
  • Butter Churn, Kitchen Table and Water Storage couldn't be deleted.
  • Sometimes a hoeing robot couldn't find a Soil file.
