Hunger Dungeon

Online interaction is a lot more common today than it was back when the first MMOs came out, since almost everyone is connected to the Internet no matter where they are. Hence, online games are much more popular nowadays, especially simple ones that allow you to measure your score against other people, or face them in head-to-head confrontations.

Hunger Dungeon is an interesting multiplayer game that allows you to choose a character and use it to fight other players in an arena crawling with monsters. The goal is to be the one with the most kills at the end of the round, but there are multiple modes to choose from as well. Hence, whether it’s a free-for-all or a party of heroes fighting against a huge boss, the experience can be quite thrilling.

On the other hand, the gameplay mechanics can be a tad too disorienting and annoying sometimes, given the fact that it’s difficult to tell what’s happening. Your character can attack using a weapon or a special ability, but it’s difficult to target enemies sometimes due to the cumbersome controls. Even so, you can have fun with the game if you don’t take it too seriously.

You get to visit the shop before each match, which is where you can find all sorts of items to help you have a better chance of winning. Swords and all sorts of weapons are available as well, depending on what you need to increase your damage or resistance. Potions are vital as well, because they allow you to recover health or mana during the match, at least if you manage to catch a break.

The pixel graphics are not exactly bad, but they can be very confusing sometimes, which is not what you want when you need to move quickly and watch out for attackers. It gets difficult to distinguish players from the environment in certain situations, so you often miss the chance to defend yourself. As mentioned before, the controls are not particularly helpful either.

All things considered, Hunger Dungeon is more than capable to keep you busy for a while, but not at the moment. Hence, it needs more work before it can provide you with actual entertainment, because at the moment it’s just too annoying to do that.
