Here, you are given a quest by Queen Nefertiti herself, who wants you to go after a couple of artifacts that have been stolen. To begin with, there are the classic levels, which challenge you to match three or more balls of the same color in order to have them disappear from the row and stop the bug carrying them from reaching the finish line. As you manage to beat these levels, new ones keep piling up, some of which have different rules. For example, you might need to fight against an enemy in some cases, which means that you have to match the gems faster than the computer can.

Every now and again, a successful match can yield a special power-up you can catch and make use of. Lightning bolts and fireballs can instantly destroy a couple of balls, while other power-ups simple slow down time, or reverse the direction of the entire row. Artifacts can also be dropped every now and again, and they bring you an awful lot of extra points.

Speaking of which, the points are what matter in the end, because they are displayed when you manage to finish each level. Obviously, the time you took to complete the stage is taken into consideration as well, so you can always go back and try to do better. In fact, the game’s replay value is through the roof, at least if you do not mind abusing the same techniques over and over again.

When it is all said and done, Luxor - Quest for the Afterlife has everything a fan of the genre might need, including beautiful 3D graphics. Hence, if you are into match-three games and you are looking for something to play, this should not miss from your game library.
