GeneRally

GeneRally is a neat little indie racing game that features loads of tracks, a few cars to choose from and even a level editor. The game is modest in looks but give it a real chance, and you’ll see how fun it can be.

GeneRally features rather modest graphics the kind you would find in 90s games. However, this game is meant to be an arcade style racing title and looked at from that perspective, the way it looks isn’t all that bad.

The game gets considerably better once you play it. Not only are the controls super tight and require a lot of skill to master, but GeneRally also features some pretty nice crash physics. Not only does your car slow down when you hit a tree or run on grass, but cars also take damage. Bump it enough on walls and other stuff and it will stop working at its full potential.

GeneRally is a tough little game. The AI opponents are merciless, and this is a racing game in which it takes a while to get used to the controls. It’s played from a bird’s eye viewpoint so you’ll always see the entire track. The tracks themselves aren’t all that big, but there are plenty of them to try out.

If you get bored with them or have some ideas, GeneRally provides a track editor that you can use to make things a bit more interesting. Using it is a breeze because it’s like an updated Paint but for creating race tracks.

To end, GeneRally is a game that might appeal to those who are really into arcade racing games regardless of their age. It’s nice, and it is fun to play but since there are other better games around, it might not keep you playing for very long.
