Dungeons & Dragons Online

Few tabletop games resonate as much as Dungeons and Dragons does, and this is further reflected by the fact that many have tried bringing D&D into the digital era, and since D&D is meant to be played with a group of friends, MMORPGs are probably the best example. This would be the case with Dungeons & Dragons Online, a MMORPG build around the universe of D&D, featuring classes, races and mechanics that players will find extremely familiar.

because we are talking about a MMO based in D&D, a game series notorious for the emphasis it puts on character creation, Dungeons & Dragons Online is no different. You first start with the play style, which currently comprises the melee, spell, specialist and iconic play style. You then carry on with choosing the race you want to play as, which gives you various proficiencies with certain classes, as well as the obvious distinct visuals. Finally you finish off with selecting your class and path, and you finish by distributing the various stats you have so that you can further specialize.

While the original D&D may have some mechanics that are not combat-related, the MMO version holds fighting as a core element, so it tried implementing combat mechanics that felt dynamic and engaging. As such, the game abandons the classic tab-targeted combat system choosing a more active-combat approach, so you can swing your weapon and hit nothing, or move out of the way of an incoming attack.

The graphics may not be as polished now as they seemed when the game first launched, but in no way can we say that the game looks cheap, as it aged pretty well, and the high population is a testimony to that.  However, the lore is well constructed and the audio is equally well polished, so everything will feel as engaging as a fantasy game can be.

Dungeons & Dragons Online is one of the most faithful adaptations of the D&D series currently available, and being a MMO means you'll never feel lonely, and that you'll always have party members at your disposal, ready to be by your side on the next epic adventure.
