Towertale Demo

A rising game mode that's certainly making an impact in the gaming community is the genre where boss battles are the centerpiece of the gameplay (and sometimes, the only piece of the gameplay). As such, you control a character that has to fight against a singular powerful enemy that usually follows an attack pattern, and you won't be able to beat the game by just mindlessly running up to the boss and hitting it. This could pretty much be the premise of Towertale, a 2D, story-driven action game that has a heavy focus on boss battles.

You get the chance to control four different characters, namely Join Lionel, Faindrel, Lord Snicklefritz and "Dark Echo" in their quest to get to the top tower. Each of these characters have a different look and a different play-style thanks to the various combo moves that they can do, as some characters are better suited for certain encounters than others. Each character will have a different way of interacting with the various NPCs , such as the pieces of dialogue they have, and this eventually makes each of them seem as if they have a different personality

As far as the lore goes, you have this giant mysterious tower that appeared out of nowhere, and each level of the tower is under the protection of a guardian. Your job as one of the four heroes is to fight your way to the top and get your hands on the elusive prize, the ability to change your "Fate".

Despite the animated and sometimes cutesy graphics, Towertale is pretty unforgiving if you're not the patient type that takes his time to learn patterns and movements. As such, the game is mostly suited for those of you that are fans of both platformers and boss battle-centric games, such as Monster Hunter or the Darksouls series.
