Naturally, all eyes turn to Sherlock Holmes and everyone asks him if he is able to stop the thief from achieving his goal. Since his role is played by you in the game, that means the responsibility sits entirely on your shoulders.

As previously mentioned, the game use point-and-click mechanics in order to relay the story, which means that most of your time will be spent trying to figure out puzzles and analyzing various locations for clues. However, the game uses a slightly more comfortable first-person perspective, which makes it a bit easier to notice the details.

You also get to play as Watson from time to time, as well as meet a variety of other famous characters from that era and interact with them as you see fit. Thanks to the potent graphics engine and the smooth animations, the characters look very convincing and they certainly help with the overall atmosphere, as does the nice soundtrack that plays in the background.

Unfortunately, Sherlock Holmes versus Arsene Lupin is not that mature when it comes to storyline and plot density, since the puzzles are rather mundane and easy to solve. The dialogue is definitely not as clever as engaging as it was in the books.
