As you keep on gaining experience, it is possible to improve your skills and increase your attributes, such as strength or dexterity. All of these affect your combat prowess and talents like defense, spell power and wisdom, which allow you to equip better items or gain more powerful abilities. Naturally, each character has a certain number of hitpoints and mana points, depending on their stats, class and equipment.

Technically, there's no question that the game looks very old and rugged, but that is mainly because it really is very old. Because it was released more than a decade ago and technology has evolved dramatically since then, the blocky characters and the unimpressive environments may be disappointing to see at first, but they are not the main attraction of the game anyway. Moreover, the dedicated developers still continue to update and improve it even today, which is why the game runs smoothly on the newest operating systems and even on 64-bit machines.

In the end, Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan may not be your average RPG experience, but it certainly encompasses a lot of interesting elements that can prove to be exciting once you get past the rugged looks. The multiplayer component is a very attractive prospect as well, given the fact that you are able to enjoy the adventures along other people from around the world.
