Regardless of your opinion on trucks and the pollution they cause throughout the world, they are still vital when it comes to transporting goods between cities, or even between countries, when the sea is not an option. However, a lot of fun can be had with the vehicles in question as well, as demonstrated by the game in question.

Big Mutha Truckers is a one-of-a-kind truck simulator in which the emphasis is put on fun and entertainment, rather than realistic trucking matters and accurate vehicle physics. Thus, while you certainly won't find out anything about what it means to transport goods and materials across large distances, you will have some fun with the trucks and engage in a bit of wacky racing as well.

Despite what you might think, the game has a story as well, one that sort of explains the events unfolding on the screen, even if only slightly and not very convincingly. Hence, it all starts when the mother of four siblings decide to step down from the helm of her highly successful trucking company and offer the position to one of the children. However, they must first prove themselves through a variety of challenges, which means that the winner gets all of it and the losers go back to their normal lives.

Once you start the game, however, things start to get better, since there is always something fun happening and usually a lot of speed is involved as well. Thus, most of the objectives and the missions require you to transport cargo between cities as fast as you can, in order to prove that you are better at the job than your siblings. On the other hand, there are a variety of other dangers out on the road as well, such as the police, or the biker gangs that can cause you serious trouble.

Since most of these missions end up having the same end goal and the roads between the cities quickly become all too familiar, the game turns out to be quite repetitive, especially if you happen to play it for a few hours straight. The graphic quality is not a strong point either, which means that the environments are not impressive and the trucks lack detail, making the experience that much more difficult to enjoy properly.

Although Big Mutha Truckers is a rather original title, it fails to transpose this originality into the gameplay as well, since the missions are very boring and repetitive most of the time. However, you can still have a bit of fun with it, as long as you do not exaggerate your stay and do not expect too much from it.
