All Zombies Must Die! Demo

Barely a few weeks go by without a few zombies popping on today’s monitors, or even more often when The Walking Dead is running. Whether it’s a movie, a TV show, or a video game, the undead have become an everyday occurrence for most people. Hence, everyone is well aware of what needs to be done in case of an outbreak, while the number of bug-out bags have increased considerably in the last few years as well.

All Zombies Must Die! does not take the matter too seriously, on the other hand, since it provides you with a colorful depiction of the apocalypse, sprinkled with the occasional pun and silly joke. Thus, you get the chance to massacre a few zombies and have a good time while you’re doing it, thanks to the laid-back attitude of the game in general.

The story provides you with insight on the struggles of four different characters, each one of which is unique in some regard. There’s an alien by the name of Luxo, a scientist Bryan, and the ex-girlfriend and boyfriend Jack and Rachel. Together, the four must overcome a variety of obstacles and get more experienced along the way, because the difficulty level keeps rising as you keep advancing through the levels.

Although it’s not very emphasized on, there’s a bit of role-playing involved as well, along with a crude crafting system that allows you to make some items. Better weapons can be picked up along the way, or you can upgrade the ones you already have. The characters can also learn a few new skills and become more resilient to the enemy attacks, although don’t expect anything too deep or intricate in this regard.

From a technical point of view, the game uses the Unreal Engine 3 to render the graphics, so there’s little one can find wrong with the visual aspect. A lot of care went into the level design as well, since every location is unique and there is plenty of detail to make you feel like you truly are experiencing the end of the world. The music may not be brilliant, but it sort of keeps the mood constant as it plays in the background.

All things considered, All Zombies Must Die! is not the best zombie flick out there, but it is funny enough to keep you playing until the end. The high scores you can achieve and the four different characters should make the experience a tad more fun and easy to get through.
