Developer Ironclad Games, of former Sins of a Solar Empire fame, has released its fantasy multiplayer online battle arena game, the similarly titled Sins of a Dark Age, on Steam Early Access.

The company plans to release Sins of a Dark Age as a free-to-play game on Steam later one, and for now has instituted a pay gate for the game in order to limit the early load on servers, as well as to make sure they provide a solid gameplay experience, complete with dedicated testers.

Gamers who elect to purchase Early Access on Steam will receive a Welcome Chest with a choice of one out of three bundles, The Berserk, Merciless Bundle or the Resolute, each one consisting of two rare skins, an uncommon piece of Hero Gear, two uncommon materials as well as two common materials to be used via the game's crafting system.

Ironclad Games plans to be in the testing phase for just a few months, as they said the MOBA is yet incomplete but stable, requiring more work as far as various assets are concerned, as well as regarding game balance.

For now, only North American servers are available, with European ones being a part of future plans but with no specific date tagged on to them.
