Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is a post-apocalyptic adventure game / visual novel hybrid designed by Philippines-based studio Kwan, that is currently undergoing a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

The game is inspired by games such as Ace Attorney and Zero Escape, combining the point-and-click gameplay of adventure titles with the heavy emphasis on storytelling, that is characteristic of graphic novels.

Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is set in post-apocalyptic Japan, following former wasteland treasure hunter Yu Sayashi's quest to revive his dead sister.

The game is planned to feature around 20 hours of gameplay across 6 chapters, with multiple endings and a story that weighs 150k words, spanning over 60 major and minor characters.

Players will be able to alternate between exploration and puzzle solving, gathering evidence from their environment and conversations to recruit their former comrades.

The game delivers a rendition of post-apocalyptic Japan, complete with real-life landmarks, and it is scheduled to come out for PC, Mac and Linux during Q4 2014, should the Kickstarter campaign turn out to be a success.

Speaking of which, the campaign has already raised 20 percent of its target goal, with 24 more days to go. Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ also has a playable demo for everyone to try out for free before pledging their support.
