I recently bought a new laptop so instantly downloaded the sims 3 and I have the rest of the expansion packs. on my old laptop I could not download the recent patch 1.50 therefore have attempted on this laptop and still wont download. This one comes up in sims 3 launcher but when I click to update it comes up (paused) and then crashed and now I have tried again and click update it goes off but no patch progress comes up! I have just payed for the university expansion pack but cannot play on it somebody help!!

I cannot update to 1.50 too! and my game lags almost everytime. I've tried few minutes ago and it's still the same. Can't update and lags. =( sadness. I hope they will solve this problem soon.

I am having the same trouble.. I cannot update to version 1.50.56, it keeps telling me there is an invalid file.

This is getting ridiculous, I paid good money for this game and the expansions. When will EA freaking fix this?!?! I did not pay so much to be unable to update/play, seriously. I will not buy anything else until this is fixed...

I can't update with this patch, TS3_1.50.56.0210x_update.exe. I get an error everytime I try! What is wrong with this? Will the responsible ones do something about it? and what can we do in the meantime?

Every time I try to move my household into a new home, the game freezes. It also freezes when I try to buy the cork board from the base game in misc decor. Not happy. >:(

The relationship status was totally ruined for every couple in my game after the last patch, so I was already wary of what might happen with this one. However, I'm having enough troubles in the game not being allowed to move that I decided to give it a shot to see if this patch fixed it. Instead, I just keep getting a message that there is an "Invalid file".
I have most of the expansion packs (all but Supernatural) but won't be buying any more or getting the stuff packs as long as this game keeps glitching out. Until everything is fixed, EA Games has lost a formerly loyal customer.

After latest patch (1.50.something) I cant start my game...freezing when launching

My sims 3 game won't download new 1.50 patch. It gets to the last step and the shoots a error message saying the file can't be found! Can anyone help?

I am very upset, i have been playing sims 3 pets for well over a year now. Ever since this patch, 1.42, my game crashes twice a day. I am not happy at all. i was planning on buying supernatural and seasons but if this problem persists its not worth my time

I'm having problems... My game is unable to connect to origin so I went to manually download the latest patch--I just installed sims 3, pets, and supernatural and am on version 1.5 and it crashes when I'm in create-a-sim--but when I open up my sims 3 launcher it says I am still on v1.5 and not 1.42. Do I have to go through every patch I've missed?
I've never had to manually install updates before and would greatly appreciate if someone would help my newbie self =P Thanks.

Love the Sea swimming and the fix for food going bad.
I find the pop up with comments on the Sims memories annoying.
Gardening seems to have been broken as plants have status harvest but do not produce much or run in the normal life cycle. Sims tending the garden need to be monitored as they keep stopping and have to be instructed to tend garden over and over again to ensure all plants are weeded etc.
The processing power needed to run the game also seems to have increased as it has become very laggy. It now takes about 4 Sim hours to cook breakfast and eat it which is just not realistic. I will have to look into upgrading my system.
Code 12 errors on saving have started ruining my game and world adventures is a bit hit and miss. I have sent my Sims to China 3 times - twice no one arrived and the only time they all arrived 2 did not return with the others and could only come home as foreign visitors. I have managed to send 3 to Egypt and return them home.
The ability to change the life span and stage times of the Sims is great.

Um..lol. Love the swimming and diving board! But now the whole..romance thing is different some how. My sims are married and..had a full relationship status bar. The one went to go give another flowers and said no! All kisses and hugs were rejected, that has NEVER happens before and I've been playing for like 3 months with the same couple. Usually if you were to...woohoo they would work up to it them selves now, they just go right to it and because of that, they once again get rejected! I mean ..there married! That's rediculos to me. But, I do like the rest.

i downloaded the base game version 1.2.7.1...same question as Mandy.. do i have do download all patches or can i just download the 1.34.27 patch? and how do i install it?

I am super confused.. I have like version 1.0631.... do I have to download every patch before the 1.33 before trying this one? Or can I go straight to 1.33 bypassing the other patches?

you have to download patch named "TS3_1.29.55.0140XX_update.exe" which has 862 mb, it won't show any errors.

having probs with 1.29 update it wont install just keeps coming up as 'update error invalided file found' does anyone know how to fix this? or can anyone point me in the right direction to fixing this prob?

When I updated my game to the latest patch it said there was an error during startup please see log for more details. WTH?! and i've tried fixing it and everything and it doesn't work. PLEASE HELP!I saw on some other websites that there have been problems and people cant fix them also my version says 0.0.0.0

I am having the same problem, at first i thought it was because I had used the "moveobject" code, but it seems to be the patch. Something to do with the "_RIG resource". so most cc made with slots ( chairs, tables, fireplaces etc.) will have this problem. there is an article on Mod the Sims about it and what you might be able to do to fix it.

Since downloading and installing the latest patch, I cant place decorative objects on any of the custom furniture that I have downloaded. I used to be able to do this before the new patch was installed, anyone having the same problem ? On a plus note though...I LOVE the collection selections that are now available in build and buy mode

i tried downloading 3 of the regions: the worldwide and the digital download did not work, it said that the game region had to be different. So I downloaded the CD/DVD region and that seemed to bring up the game wizard, but when it runs it says "error, invalid file found".

whats happening? we really want to add our expansion packs...

was prompted to update game on the game launcher, it was taking a really long time to install, like 2 hours, which is unusual. I quit the instal before it was complete because it apeared to not be working. the game launcher now says the game is updated and will not allow me to manually update anything, but when I try to play, there's an error message that my "base game" is not up to date. wth? How can I fix this????

I can start up the sims 3 and it will work JUST fine. But then when I download this update, i get an error message that says:
"Unable to start game

service initialization error(0x0175dcbb)"

I just got the late night expansion pack and really want to play the game but it needs this update. I need help very badly. Does anyone know what this means???

Okay, I recently updated my game to 1.15 and since then I haven't been able to play. It just says Eroor, process could not be started or something and then freezes. Does anyone know what to do?

i'm having the same problem. i went to the regedit, but i have windows 7 32-bt and the only folder in sims 3 folder is 'ergc' and it has only one file which hasn't go a 7 anywhere. what should i do?

For me worked like Chris posted: regedit / hkey_local_machine /software /sims/SKU / changed value to 2. Instalation was for US.

when i run this patch they tell me the installed game region is different from the patch region.i installed the main one the us so how can i know this patch is of wut region to make it work?

I've been going to the sims 3 directly now without opening the game launcher so I can actually play it but ive now discovered a fatal flaw...

I've just updated to 1.8.25. I can get past the loading screen and actually play, it's just that the ground outside of my household's lot flashes blue. I know it's the patch because I've removed all CC that I downloaded and the flashing still happens.

Is this happening with anybody else or is there something I haven't tried yet?

For those having problems with the Region Code, in Vista, go to the start menu, and type Regedit. Open the program that it should have found for you. Find your The Sim 3 folder within the Regedit program. Double click the SKU file. Change the number displayed, (which is most likely to be 7) To 2. Press okay, but do not close the Regedit program and leave it on The Sims 3 folder. Retry your patch. If it says its the wrong region code again, go back to it and change it to 1. And then 7. From this site, I'm thinking it will either take a 1 or a 2.
Region Codes
1 = USA
2 = UK
7 = Worldwide

Was unable to get this patch to work with the SIMS 3 copy version. Install the SIMS 3 original version and use the update management to install this, and it work.

I can't install the patch as, as soon as it looks like it's finished it will say it can't install the patch and the file is invalid even though i got it from their download server

I get past the start up movie and in get;s stuck right at the end of the loading screen and stays that way. The music still plays and all and I can move my curser, it just won't load it up. I don't have the world adventures expantion.

I've found a way to get around the sims 3 game update 1.8!
For those who are having trouble you need to find a way to get to The sims 3 without opening the game launcher, this means you need to look for a straight shortcut to the TS3

- Just search your computer for 'TS3 - shortcut' or something along those lines

If this patch (1.8.25) works for you, you should run out and buy lottery tickets, because it's your lucky day!

For the rest of us, with the unlucky trait, I strongly recommend waiting for the next one, and seeing if it works.

erm... i have a problem with the 1.8 update, it crashes as soon as i open the Sims3 - no, it goes black and only my loading cursor symbol is displayed.
I cant even access the sections in the Sims3 game launcher except WELCOME and GAME UPDATES

What location? Can't choose anything. The install crashes before it starts. And that number you refer to, isn't that the current version you have? That's bound to change when you install a new patch, or what?

Since two days before Thanksgiving the Sims3 update has broken my save/load game ability.

I did try uninstalling and reinstalling, but due to the patch level of my latest saved
games with the most progress, I cannot load my most recent saves.

I updated to 1.7.9.002001 and still cannot load or save any games.

It looks like they have changed the format for saving games, so until this is addressed
you won't be able to load any games or save any new progress if you experience the same
problems I am.

You need to choose the location which is the same as your version (Does that make sense?). To find what version you have, open the game launcher and look in the bottom left corner under 'Game Updates'. Look for those exact numbers (not including the last four numbers) in the list of locations you can choose from. Select the one which is the same.

The patch is currently installing for me, it's taking an awfully long time but I hope it pays off! I have a lot of glitches in my game and, going by the description and changes list, this patch should fix most of them. Thanks for the great fixes!

There have been some problems with the 1.7/2.2 patch - personally I have found that it completely crashes the game, but if I re-install my games I'm not allowed to install WA unless I patch it!!

I've queried EA about it, but they are not responding to anyones emails and are not talking about it on the boards either.

Keeping fingers crossed they'll get it fixed ASAP - but right now it doesn't look hopeful.

May I know what should the region be in order to install this update? Thanks.

Thanks for all the great fixes! Just wondering if the issue with the newest Graphics Driver for the nVidia 8 series is going to be fixed in the next patch? Apparently, if I have my newest driver installed, the game is choppy and eventually freezes up, and eventually it won't even boot up.

How are you supposed to install this ? it tells me that it's in the wrong "location" and it needs to be in the "correct" location before it can proceed with installation...
So.. what IS the "correct" location?
