History Egypt: Engineering an Empire Demo
Help Ancient Egypt regain its power and influence in this turn-based strategy game with an emphasis on history #History Egypt #Turn-based strategy #Strategy game #History #Egypt #TBS
Back in ancient times, empires were constantly rising all over the world and they held for centuries before crumbling down, as was the case with the Romans or the Greeks. However, the Egyptians are probably among the most famous, mostly due to their extravagant architecture and the sheer size of their empire, which spanned across large distances.
History Egypt: Engineering an Empire is a turn-based strategy game in which you get the chance to experience the rise of the Egyptian empire and hold complete control over them. Not only that, but you are also free to choose the path to victory, because both diplomacy and war are viable choices, so it’s up to you whether you shed some blood along the way or not.
There’s not much of a story going on in the background, because everything revolves around the ascent of the Egyptians. However, there are certain scenarios you can undertake as you go along, most of which require you to either raise the well-being of the empire, or just conquer a new piece of land. The campaign is not exactly complicated, but it allows you to see everything there is to see when it comes to mechanics.
Speaking of which, the gameplay is a tad different than what you may have seen in other TBS games, but it can be boiled down to the same formula. Hence, your primary concerns are the cities under your control, which can be expanded by raising new buildings. Whether it’s a new gold mine or some barracks to produce new troops, each construction increases the worth of the said city.
If things get too tricky to solve using tributes and kind words, war is the only way left. Moving around the world map is done in turns, since every unit has a specific number of action points that can be used every turn. Once the combat begins, the two armies go head to head against each other in the classic TBS manner, with the units placed on the opposite sides of the battlefield.
All things considered, History Egypt: Engineering an Empire is not a title for the hardcore fans of the genre, because it dumbs everything down and it takes the challenge out of the action most of the time. However, in case you need something light to occupy your time with, this can be the perfect choice to do so.
