Strong Bad Episode 5: 8-Bit Is Enough Demo

Homestarrunner is a website that produces funny, albeit weird cartoons and comics featuring a bunch of interesting characters, to say the least. Together with a unique universe and a total disregard for realism, common sense or etiquette, the cartoons are definitely worth a shot if your sense of humor is up for a stretch and you do not mind waiting a while for everything to make sense.

Strong Bad Episode 5: 8-Bit Is Enough is the fifth part in the somewhat successful point-and-click adventure series produced by the masters at Telltale Games. In essence, the saga follows the exploits of Strong Bad and his fellow weirdos, including Strong Sad, The Cheat and various other curious characters that keep the dialogue interesting and the plot unpredictable.

This time around, everything starts at a party hosted by Strong Bad, when he attempts to make a jump and hits his head on Trogdor, the arcade in his room. Naturally, the arcade breaks, but while those involved shift the blame back and forth between them, the machine comes to life and goes on a rampage, terrorizing everyone it comes in contact with along the way.

In case you are not familiar with the Homestar universe, it may prove to be a bit difficult to taste the humor and catch the subtle references that slip into every conversation. Moreover, the characters have a long history when it comes to cartoons, which is why the developers chose to base most of their dialogue and personality on what was already there. Thus, the game may not be that appealing if you are not a fan of the cartoons, although it can certainly stand on its own as a sturdy adventure title.

The puzzles are by no means complicated, but they do require a fair amount of tinkering before you are able to come up with a solution. Talking to other people/objects, collecting items and performing various other repetitive actions are the main objectives, although it is also possible to combine items and use them together in order to tackle certain mysteries.

Even if it may not be for everyone, Strong Bad Episode 5: 8-Bit Is Enough is definitely worthy of a chance, especially if you are a fan of point-and-click adventure games and you do not mind having to do a bit of research on the characters beforehand. Other than that, this episode is as strong as the others, although slightly confusing in the beginning.
