Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is the fourth title in the Delta Force series and this one places you in the time of the Afghanistan conflict. You are a member of the Special Operations unit and you will have to bring your A game to successfully complete every mission you are tasked with.
Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is your classic objective-driven first-person shooter in which you infiltrate a base, shoot to kill without asking any questions, retrieve documents or take out rockets and then return to the extraction point to get your next assignment.
It was created to offer the lone-wolf perspective meaning that you alone set off to accomplish any mission with just your gun and combat skills. The game saw light for the first time in 2002 and by that time’s standards it was pretty good. Today however, you just won’t be able to accept the fact that your weapon is a simple simple cutout from an image that kind of sways up and down as you move.
There is a lot of shouting and shooting in Delta Force: Task Force Dagger and a lot of the enemies will get spotted thanks to their big mouths. There is also an easy to use HUD radar that helps you pinpoint hostiles and you shouldn’t worry about them spotting and shooting at you. The AI is far from being challenging.
Playing Delta Force: Task Force Dagger you might have to face the reality of repetitive gameplay. Although missions have different settings, they come down to pretty much the same thing, shooting semi-unaware ‘terrorists’.
If you could turn back time, Delta Force: Task Force Dagger would be one heck of a game but since that’s not possible, you’ll just have to deal with seriously outdated graphics, decent gameplay but really boring AI.
