What's new in Zafehouse: Diaries Patch 1.2.3

Oct 23, 2013
  • Added: Item Editor. It is now possible to easily add your own items to the game via the Custom Content Manager. The editor allows you to export and import named item "packs" so you can share you creations with other players. Please note that items are complex objects and while we've done our best to catch all the bugs, it should be considered a work-in-progress. This feature is not intended to replace modding, which allows you a greater degree of control over item creation.
  • Added: Holding the Control key and left-clicking on an item in the Supply tab item list, or an item list on the Movement screen, will move that item to a new category called "Odds and ends". You can use this to filter out items you're no longer interested in and they won't appear under their regular category. You can reverse this change using Control-LMB again on the item.
  • Tweak: The item lists on the Supply tab and the Movement screen have been modified to separate protection gear and ammunition into their own categories. Also, categories for which no items exist won't appear.
  • Tweak: Items with stats in excess of five stars will have a plus sign appended to those stats.
  • Fixed: An issue where melee protection bonuses were not being applied correctly to zombie grab checks.
  • Fixed: Pain suppression effects, such as those given by painkillers, were sometimes not applied correctly.
  • Fixed: An issue where the mouse cursor would appear locked in the top-left corner of the screen when using bookmarks.
  • Fixed: A few diary reporting issues and typos with the new sniping report and lynch mob dilemma.
  • Fixed: The "Survivors hurt each other" difficulty setting now affects a game in progress.

New in Zafehouse: Diaries Patch 1.2.2 (Oct 17, 2013)

  • Added: Steam achievements. Steam users can now try their hands at completing 12 unique achievements, from successful amputations to defeating the lynch mob.
  • Added: New dilemma -- Outpost. Players of No Survivors have a new threat to watch out for. A group of ex-military troops may set themselves up inside a location in town, along with a nice cache of weapons and equipment. They're not easy to take on and if you do defeat them, they'll try and track you down... with explosive consequences.
  • Added: New museum item sets -- Cold War, Middle Kingdom and Viking.
  • Added: Outdoor traps -- Survivors can now build formidable traps around locations, in addition to regular and experimental indoor traps. Select it as an option from the "Make traps" order.
  • Added: New task -- Build fortifications. Once you've fortified a location, you'll be able to improve it even further by adding a fence, sniper's nest or watch tower. The fence prevents zombies from attacking the location, leaving your barricades untouched and allows survivors to move out even if surrounded; a sniper's nest boost the accuracy of your snipers and the watch tower allows your spotters to see much, much further.
  • Added: New occupation -- Mayor. While the mayor's survival skills might not be the greatest, he sure does know how to uncover hard-to-find items inside the locations of his town.
  • Added: Experimental display scaling has been reactivated. It's also been tweaked to preserve desktop icon positions when the game is exited.
  • Added: The game now provides a one-time warning when the system resolution is too low.

Find greenhouses, medical labs and ammo factories to produce a steady stream of resources and keep an eye out for the elusive caravan.
